Michelle/4kids/RVM4 and RVM2,

I assume this means Phaedrus by Plato.
Plato would have been a fine RVM

Sort of - and since I sort of brought it up - let RVM4 off the hook. In Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance - the author / narrator referred to his past self as Phaedrus - while he was sort of losing grip on his present self. It was a reference to the discussion / Plato.

The book basically said life is what ya make it - Motorcycle maintenance can be a tedious bore or great fun depending on your attitude. A RV Mutant for sure.

You will retire in a little over a year. When you do, stretch your legs a while. Then, if you do not write a book, RVM2, it could be considered a crime against humanity.

You have the bridge, #2. Of that there is no doubt.

RVM1 - just thought of something we don't have and don't need. A multi disk CD/DVD player. Unless ya count the fact that I have 3 singles - one in the dash - one in the main TV compartment and one outside.

The RVM is happy with what the have, and sometimes that's too much. RVM2 out.

I have the same set up, RVM2.

We use the dash one rarely. Too often enjoying the scenery too much for having competing noise.

Have used the outdoor one once for music, just to make sure it worked. Have watched a few movies out there, though.

The main unit gets more movie use than music, but actually not much use overall. We get more use out of plugging the iPhone in for tunes. But not more than 10 hours in the last year. Too freaking busy being campers!

In the last 18 months, the folks that made multi disk CD/DVD changers worth the extra change had kids along.

So, yes! Very happy with what we have. If any of them fail we may not know it for weeks! As it goes, hardly need what we have.

RVM1 & RVM2, RVM3 has the cd/dvd for use in the coach and the in dash cd but, I can count on 1 hand the number of times the cd/dvd player has been used and, the in dash cd player has never been used. Don't have the outside system. Don't want it though. Just something else to not work right at some point in time. Like RVM1 said to busy lookin at the country side as we go to our destination and then to busy doin things at our destination to do anything else.

RVM4 hit the nail on the head early on with the Zen and the Art of RVing (Motorcycle Maintenance) as sounding a little like RVM thinking. Just chased down this quote from the book.

“Sometimes it's a little better to travel than to arrive.”

I gotta say - this winter I really did not enjoy the down time and took several rides to nowhere just to get behind the wheel. The travel or journey was the entire destination. Miles for the sake of putting them on and feeling the road beneath me. If you ever feel that way or do that, you might be an RV Mutant.

I have heat pumps, awnings, exhaust brake and an ice maker. I don't have any of those other things and my unit is 13 years old, can I join the club? Oh I almost forgot, I have the best wife in the world who will be happy with anything!

But does she enjoy laughing at you and keep ya in line? . Of course you're in. Been wondering when you'd pull into camp. You're officially RVM13 - the bakers dozen! Don't forget - right at the rainbow.
