At RV parks, age guessing is dangerous. Some old people look young, some young people look old. My wife has me trained to keep my yap shut because I likely could blurt out ... "Wow, you don't look a day over 60", and the people may be early fifties.

Sort of like one of the things you don't do at a job interview ... Look at the interviewers wife's photo on his desk and blurt out ... "Hey, I think I know her"

RVM-2 ... Here is my copy of your copy of a 50amp tester.

Typical of my projects it had to be designed on paper first, then parts were purchased or dug out of my scrap supply.

Interesting variation on the original design, by using a switch instead of two outlets. I may modify mine.

Right on! We are in full control of all the important stuff in life. I feel so good about this project that I may drag that cold fusion project over to my bench top again.

Moonrover. After seeing your Dremel in one of the pics - I looked in the garage for mine. Couldn't find it. So I looked to my pics of storage bays. Not in the tool bay. Oh - found it - bottom right of a bay with two empty tubs and my blue bag of electrical supplies. Hmm. What are either of them doing there. That bay should be empty at this point.



Now I have to go to storage - not to move things around - but I just noticed the cut out and foam in the right corner. There is no electric there but that pipe at top has the drain petcock for my fresh water tank. Gonna go see why / what that cutout might be for. Hmm. Any bets on what it's for? Called my BIL and he's up for the journey. All bets must be down by 3:30 pm central.

OK, but watch my hands as I do an air drawing. You already know that you need a 3-way switch. One side has two terminals, the other has one terminal. Are you sticking with me so far? Instructions come with the switch ... ignore them ... instructions are for sissies.

I wired with the "assumption" method. Assumed that the two terminals on the same side of the switch ARE the switched terminals. WRONG ... won't go into details how I learned this. No workie on first attempt with assumed method.

Real switched terminals are the single on one side and the one on the opposite side. Workie this time!

Wire legs of the two hots to each of the terminals on the same side of the switch. Also tie in the two legs of the neon light circuit tester to these terminals. That gives an indication (neon illuminates) that the two legs are out of phase, meaning a real 240v supply, not a fake twin 120v from the same phase.

I have a feeling you already know all of the above however. <lol>

By the way, the rocket scientist kid at Lowes electrical department tried to tell me this can not be done because 50amps is too much for the plug and switch. I told him there is no load, just puny testers. Load/demand is what the ratings on the plugs and switches are for. Beyond this tidbit, I know noooothing.

Appears to be a slot to keep the bay door from pinching a hose when you are draining the FW tank. Maybe the theory is to completely drain (winterize) the tank, you need to drive around a bit to jostle water out of the lines. By leaving the petcock open, water can trickle out via the attached hose.

If this is correct and there is a prize, do you need to have my mailing address?

When I drained it before - just opened the line and it drained out. But it was slow. I can see the storage site from here.... Stuck at light. We shall see about the prize - if I can even see a place to connect a hose. Do not recall one from last year. Man - my BIL thinks he's a race car driver....
