The City of New Orleans passes by my airport close enough to call RADAR CONTACT on. I've had the pleasure of riding it up to and back from Chicago a few times.

Originally written by Steve Goodman in 1971 and recorded by him it was covered many times. Arlo Guthrie is probably the best known cover but Willie Nelson has a very popular cover also. Arlo included in his Hobo's Lullaby album in 1972 after Steve auditioned it for him.

Wikipedia makes me look smart. City of New Orleans (song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

All these mentions of Arlo remind me, I don't want a pickle. I'd rather ride my.....

We older mutants sure grew up with a riches of music. Lately it occurs to me.... Old Me often says.... what a long strange trip it's been.

Rain in Tucson with mid 50s, and 2 more days of it coming!

Rain and/or a chill in many places for RVMs today. That, and thoughts of Thanksgiving seems to be bringing out more melancholy moods and a bit of foresight and hindsight into what RVMdom was, and is now, and will be.

And none are incorrect.

Now to search out something I want and need: 2 perfect, all-purpose raincoats.

Without a little rain rain there would be no rainbow. Watch for it - camera ready and post up later for all to admire!

No Trail Hawks on that Jeep dealers' lot, nor inside either due to building renovations. On a rainy cold day with a very young, very inexperienced salesman, it made more sense to stick to my knitting...in the car. DH managed what little outdoor investigations he wanted to and came in chilled and unsatisfied. Poor guy!

New mutants are all around, I see. Welcome, one and all! May your ride be error-free and your bacon always crisp and delicious.

Cheers!
Sue

33 1/3 methinks. Woody Guthrie - Arlos dad was more likely on the 78. But I could be wrong...
