Some years back we invested in a metal detector, I very nice one. And haven't found much with it, but then I think you have to actually use it, in order to find things. I believe we made 36 cents appear and 2 keys, and bunches and bunches of those old pull tabs from beer cans. Hmm, occasionally we have talked of trying it out again, but haven't gone past talking about it. Maybe when the time is right.

I bet you're planning to hit the diamond fields in AR this Spring. What's the most exciting thing you've found?

I've posted this before but just a reminder that a 3.8 carrot diamond was found not long ago (4-5 weeks). Smaller one found regularly.
Myself, I went to Jared's!

Jeff - Sorry to hear of the demise of your Refrigerator. So far my Amish is acceptable but it hasn't been seamless. Ours in a slideout and think that is our only issue. And - it has been in / out / in and out again - and replaced. It cools very well but always at a setting I feel is too high. It saw high mid and high 90's ambient temp and needed to be on 7. The original Norcold install did not require the high settings. Mine was replaced due to potential fire hazard and I do have 2 extra fans on it - and a halo extinguisher. When this one goes it will be residential.

You could have at least given it to Mrs. Dogpatch.

You are probably right. I know she has more common sense that many people I know. It's actually the film industry people that are behind most of CA's exotic animal laws. The "professional" animal handlers don't want the competition from a bunch of wannabes.
To even bring a monkey into CA to visit you first must purchase a pricey permit. You risk losing your $ if they refuse your permit, which frequently happens. They require documented proof that the monkey has done so many shoots within a short period of time, the complete info on the shoot in CA and other nonsense.
See why I drive around, not thru CA on my way to and from Seattle? I just think of all the $ I'm saving by not paying their inflated prices and laugh.

Hey Barb - Annie swears there are states that probably require me to obtain permission to enter as well. I'm not saying.
Been meaning to ask if you found answers on the other thread on making your home safe for cold weather - since we weren't any help? Honesty I don't know and hope you found the right approach.
Steve

The hard part was looking at the weather in the land of RVM2 for the next weekend and finding it to be rather...SUCKY! Steve had told me often that this time of year the weather can be anything and cold/rainy is one of them and that is what it will be. Sandee has heard me talk all the time about our meeting with Steve and know how much I was wanting to me him and Annie. SIGH!
Well...
For our first fork in the road and we have opted to take a route we hadn't even considered. When we leave Macon on Wednesday we will head to Tallahassee, FL and then onward to Alamo, TX. We will have to wait until the GC to have that meeting.
The rainbow is not always a straight path. Onward we slide.

Now you know we are in Texas City if you get close.

Oh! We loved the 54 mile ride or so up the Rogue and back in a jet boat. we were the last people on and got front wet seats. Did I say wet? Meant soaking wet.

Annie is such a smart woman. You don't have to say anything. There are those of us that know even if we have not met you yet.

All the best - Steve and Annie and all your mutant family.

Yes, I posted on the RV systems forum, where I should have at first, and a plumber from Alaska replied that he uses PEX and it's good to -40*. I just need to turn off the water pump and open the faucets to take off the pressure. Now you know, too.
But now it looks like the forecast has changed -- for the warmer.
