Barb - if DavDeb1 comes along he has reported great service with the Milenicom (sp), fixed cost and 4x the data as you're plan for maybe $20 more a month and some leeway on overages.

I know I'm an offender and am trying to remember.

Wayne - go easy on the Makers 46. Sparky doesn't want to get off the couch this morning.

Barb,

No offense taken. I perfectly understand. I have a 5gb limit when we are on the road with my MiFi. Earlene has an iPad 4, grandfathered with the original data plan of unlimited data. It is so unfortunate that the ISP's feel they have to charge so much, or not give unlimited data. Oh, wait, that's how the Board of Directors and other stock holders make their greedy money.

As for video's, when I'm on the road I just don't click on the link. Typically when you hover over them with the mouse a little pop-up somewhere in one of the corners of the computer tell what the URL is and if it is YouTube or other video source I just don't click on it. In the years that I have been using 5gb plan I have never exceeded my quota. I have come close when I'm posting to "my" web site all the pictures I took.

When I'm not stationary in one place using my data plan, and WiFi is available I'll quickly jump on that media for my picture/link surfing.

You make a good point and I always post the largest size picture I can for the quality. I have methods of reducing the size and I'll try to start using smaller pictures.

Thanks.

At first blush we learned: 1. The RV goes where we tell it to go. 2. We don't have to go where we thought we would go. 3. Drum roll......!!!!! Hooray and huzzah for youse guys!!

It's a totally different feel, isn't it, to be staying in one spot for an extended period rather than moving on every few days. There are pros and cons to both, I reckon.

You mentioned work on a knee while you are in Alamo? Regular wear & tear or injury? Best of luck with it.

Cheers!

We are about 160 miles/2.5 hours south of Corpus Christi. We plan to do a lot of exploring this area while we are here. It should be fun getting a taste of southern TX hospitality and most important...good eating places!

Ginny, I am sorry for your problems and hope that, as Barb has suggested, you will be fine with your new glasses. Nice to have such expertise on board, eh?

My optometrist mentioned that "C" word to me for the first time last month, but indicated I might have 5-7 years before needing surgery. Scares me witless, except that in 5 years there should be more advances in Rx and care. I've always hated anything near my eyes, even the puff test for glaucoma.

My mother's surgeon, Dr. Beelzebub, the one with absolutely no useful bedside manner, allowed an incorrect lens to be handed to him for implantation. Somebody's major error. No problem: we'll go in and replace it.

Problem is, once you've messed with an eye, a second surgery often creates even more problems. Mother had damage and discomfort in that eye the rest of her life...20 or so years, in fact.

Winning the lawsuit didn't help at all.

Wishing you all the best, and a happy holiday season...better into the new year!

Cheers!
Sue

THANKS for the HUZZAH!

We postponed our CMI departure a couple days to get an MRI on my left knee done the day after Thanksgiving. It found I have a tear of the Meniscus on the inside of my left knee. It ain't that bad since I have probably done over 750 miles on the bicycle after I felt it starting to ache a tad. It is when I twist my knee in odd directions (like when I kick my feet out of my bike peddle cleats) that it softly YELLS at me. LOL So...I have a copy of the MRI with me and will find an orthopedic specialist for a second opinion and surgery if that is what is called for.

It's all good!

Don - you're retired now. Change the pedals, toss the cleats. No hurry. The journey is the destination.

Now THAT ain't gonna happen. LOL I am not the best mutant in an RV but I am not even pretending to be one on my bikes. My retired bike (on sale this spring at my FIL's) was the same bike ridden by Team Postal (Lance "I don't cheat" Armstrong ) in the 1999 Tour de France. My new road bike isn't quite a racer but man...does it ride SWEEEEET! Pick it up with your pinky and still goes fast. Go faster and use less energy means better air conditioning.

Yes I know you're one of those "silky pants" riders... And if that floats yer boat - go for it! As for Lance - he gives Austin a bad name. The shame. And sad too.

Don, this is the picture I was trying to get to the other evening. Make sure you show it to Gunny and Thor.

Barb, it is only 167kb in size so you could load 5,988,024 of them before you reach 1Gb (couldn't resist, hee hee)

I named the picture, "Decisions decisions, where to go next."

The good looking one is me, okay, so it's Miya.
