Email is that way also.
Everyone all talked out?
Fingers tired?
Traveling?
Eating bacon?

Had a slide issue late in the evening that went quite late. The manual gave me the fix by showing me where the circuit breaker is.

Oh No... Untwisted. Red Vines or Twislers may be in order. Bacon also contains retwisting properties.

Morning Mutated Ones.
Hey Steve,

How are you this mutated morning ?. We are currently rocking through a collossal wind storm here in Yuma, with gusts up to 50 mph forecast for later today. It may well be a good day for a nap, the coach is rocking a bit and I had to put away the things that could fly.

Cheers !!!

GC Meals Update

So far there is no wild game entered in the 11 Meal Forms submitted (but I know Dwayne and Shara are providing venison chili but not sure of # servings). I'm suggesting we drop the focus on "Wild Game" and let Grilling and Smoking or other food cooking Extravaganzas carry the day. Annie and I were going to do a 5 -6 lb pork tenderloin in the smoker and will add one more - and some chicken to the smoker. There may be room for some other items if you want to try fit something in the smoker.

I have updated the MENU PDF on the website - now contains 11 of the 21 attendees offerings. Take a look and adjust or plan you meals accordingly. The file name is "First Round Meal Sign Up Sheet 11 RVMs".

It's coming together nicely. Note - I indicated on the form that we had purchased 2 disposable chaffing dishes / fuel - actually the management has informed me it's 3 not 2...

Now Steve, you have to be versatile, and take submissions from wherever the come from. I would like to say that my form was wrong, but it wasn't, it was just mistaken.

Just keep the jeepster part out of it. I don't want to see no jeep bacon piles in the competition.

Hey, that more than qualifies.

I am sure that we can each acknowledge that The Great Bacon Challenge can only be enriched (striped of impropriety) by strict adherence to specific judging guidelines. A few suggestions might be:

1) Judges will wear masks over BOTH eyes (hence the expression: double-blind).
2) Prior to placements being awarded, Judges will not inquire as to the name of the chef, title of the dish, or, for that matter, the name of the manufacturer of the chef’s toad.
3) Judges will belt down a slug of Jne’s special “palate-clearing wash” before tasting each entry. A Judge who is a practicing member of AA is exempt from this rule.
4) (And - My Favorite-) The Seat of Pants Rule: Judges will be seated on their pants and use only their fine palates when deliberating final placement of entries.

Feel free to add whatever your sense of impropriety dictates.
He with the most luxurious TOAD should win, don't you think? Definitely not a Jeepster.

I can't say what bacon dish we will enter, don't want copycats, but it will be fantastic and we do have a Jeep if that helps! Red wine sounds good with bacon, as does bloody marys, red beer, or the infamous rattlesnake. Which is a shot of tequila, chased with a shot of tomato juice with Tabasco and salt and pepper in the juice. Then you wash it all down with a ice cold Budweiser. Great drink and they grow on you. If they don't bite you first!
See! I rest my case! He had to bring up the TOAD issue. Sheesh.

Now don't go to thinking your all that and a bag of chips or anything but it is so great to have a bunch of friends come together for a whole week and enjoy each other's company. This event is going to be epic!

Barb's choice of habitat is about 150 miles due south of us and its equally as beautiful.
I didn't take the time to view the video yesterday, so I did take the time today. Wonderful videography (is that a word) On the MacBook Pro it looked 3d. On Earlene's 4th generation iPad with the retina display she said it really looked 3d.

Thanks for sharing.

Ok I too am getting excited so how about something we haven't discussed and yes it does concern the GC, kind of.

What plans are forming following the GC. I have heard some that have plans, is everyone else just going back home? Mutant minds want to know.

If there are those that don't like to give out much details I completely understand, maybe a response on the Yahoo site would be better.

We will be moving across town to host at Lake Quchita State Park. Will be their till mid June withe the exception of a few days. Any one else?

From Earlene: (CinCHouse has spoken)

"Wayne has failed to mention that we are taking extra appliances to assist. We have a double-sided waffle maker and an Emeril deep fryer that we can load aboard if Wayne will leave behind things in the bays he hasn't used since 1945. There won't be traditional egg white batter, but buttermilk batter with a little Irish cream or Kahlua will make the waffles palatable. We always have a large griddle for pancakes and the "b" word and ubiquitous small kitchen appliances which are available for anyone to use as well."

She is lying about 1945, I was only 4 then and couldn't pack, or drive.

Wild Game Off The Burner

Wuzzit with youse guys. When I saw the original proposition of a great and grand clan gathering and it was featuring wild game I thought, what a natural event to happen. My second thought once I realized Catherine's Landing wuz just a tad south of Redneck USA that boy will we be well served with fresh vitals at this event.

I mean you have people traveling sever thousand miles to get to the GC@CL and there will be lots of opportunity for y'all to gather fresh meat on the way to the gathering. Waddayuh gunna do leave all that road kill laying there visible only in yer rear view mirror?

Shees, and I thought I was in with a really good bunch of mutants.

Pause for Reflection

We are rapidly approaching another milestone with this august collection of nuts. Soon we will be at the thousand page thread threshold, something unseen on any forum I follow.

Congratulations everyone for keeping this together.
