We're driveway camping, but hate to unload since it's so close to time for REloading. Martin is basically one-armed since he fell & broke his wrist yesterday, but he had gotten the burst pipes in the S&B repaired before that happened.

He's itching to get things done on the Wrangler before it either sells or he surrenders it to the Jeep dealer as part of our trade-in, but it may be that he has to direct me in replacing a broken headlamp. The back seat needs to be re-installed, a heavier job than I can manage, and the base plate and extra braking system may need to be removed. Ack!!!

There's never a good time for such accidents, is there? At any rate, we figure to make it to GC@CL. All the driving controls are on his left. The down side is we might need some muscular help once parked.

Good thing there are lots of big strapping handsome men in this bunch! I may have to do some sweet-talkin'! Or bribe folks with bacon. Yeah, that's it: bacon bacon bacon!

Cheers!
Sue
Morning. No worries on the extra help. As long as he has 1 arm that will keep him from being thirsty. Page 1000 and if my accounting is close, this should be 14002, drats.

Sue hate to hear about Martin, don't worry about the lifting, although my help may be limited, you see I have severe allergies, anytime I do anything that resembles work I break out in sweat all over! Horrible condition. Been afflicted for years.

But regardless I bet just the promise of bacon will get many motivated!

HUMMINGBIRDS here March till October.... We are in the flyway, but some stay for the summer.... Most just use us and move on....

We are T-28 hours and 35 minutes from launch out of the RGV! Prep is ongoing, systems tested, gantry ready to be moved away from the pad.

The only programmed hold is 1 PM tomorrow when we get our tranny filters changed as we leave town. Programmed hold time between 1 and 2 hours.

Good morning my Mutey friends!

It's cold here in Montana and the swap out propane tank that fuels our boondocking heater ran out about 6:30 am. My friends here have graciously allowed us to plug into a 20 amp outlet, but all their electricity is solar generated so I don't want to plug in my power hog of an electric heater. The sun shining in the windows is warming us now, but a trip to town in the toad for propane is on today's list.

Sue -- sorry to hear that Martin broke his wrist. Between the 2 of you there's only one pair of useful appendages. Please be careful to not put any more out of commission.

UPS says they will deliver the parts I ordered tomorrow. Once they are installed we will be headed south. Thirteen days and 1600 miles to go til we get to the GC. Are ya ready to party?

Now this gets me to pondering. If you're thinkin' "It could be worse", is that optimism?

IRVM 20 checking in.

Sure has been a chatty bunch for the past year.
I have been trying to keep up.

We had had little to say but watched all the preparations and adventures. I am glad to see the that the Grand Mutant Gathering is doing well.
We wish we could join, but will be unable to do so.

At last we have made the tip, which was planed for last November, to see Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grand Child. We are now at the Daughter's place on Folsom,
Louisiana. River is about 6' higher than normal but OK.

We delayed this tip by a day due to weather that past Monday. Tuesday was going great. We left the Athens Ga. area at 8:30 AM EDT and was in the Alabama Welcome center at 11:30AM EDT. I hate the Atlanta area so I used SR141, I20,I85. Things were going great. The tow dolly and CRV were acting great. The first tank of gas was 8.5 MPG. I mostly run 55-62 MPH.

The 32 miles North of Montgomery, Al. on I85 we ran into a total standstill. At 4AM a semi wracked on rain, threw cargo everywhere and burnt to the ground. The Intrastate 85 in that area has now been closed South bound for over 24 hours.
The CB Radio came in real handy. Exactly what I bought it for. DW is now in agreement.

They routed us all off on ramp and down 2 lane country roads for 3.5 hours at 5 MPH!
Topped of with gas when I could and MPG had dropped to 4.4 MPH. 5MPH killed it.

After we got on I85 we stopped next at Wind Creek Casino. They are RV friendly. The parking lot for the RVs was no further away than some of the regular spaces.
Plus if you have trouble walking, just call the 1-800 number and they will send Security with a golf cart. They had a great buffet and we played a few electronic games. Slept well and then continued to the Daughters, arriving around 2 PM CDT Yesterday.

We plan several week here and then back for appointments.

Have fun.

That's all the News that is the News.
