How odd that a speech therapist would be deciding whether you can have soup or liquids. I would think an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist would be making that call. (Of course, I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV.) At any rate, I hope you are feeling a bit better, Mike. Just take it easy and let your body heal; Sadie is in good hands and you'll see her soon.
And I'll add my... "OH YEAH!!"

Watching that one though was fun...how did you all manage to roll in all at the same time?
Catherine's Landing is beautiful...I love all the mist. Was that in the mornings...or on certain days?

The group roll in was well orchestrated and managed by Texas Contingent Trail Bosses Don and Sandee. 8 of us met at Cooper Lake State Park and caravanned 300 miles to Hot Springs!!
The dew was generally mornings - and with the occasional afternoon showers etc. We were visited by one heck of a storm opening night (lasted about 30 minutes) and few rains here and there. Thur entire place was a rainbow!
It was a great Grande Curiosity and a difficult act to follow....

Lake Catherine, like many lakes comes from the bottom if the dam..... The water is generally cooler than air, thus the fog... It can be all day if they are letting water in... Seen it at lots of rivers coming out of dams.... A neat thing..... There was also a lot of pollen floating on the water.......
(Will answer your email soon)

No problem, Mike.
Let me know if that changes...I'll be here able to pitch in till about the 15th...then I'll be getting ready for my own trip...rolling out to the Ozarks.
Yeah...they don't let anyone touch the thermostats...they're controlled at the main office. Thing is...they set them for the workers...not the patients. And the patients usually need it a little warmer....low circulation and all that...

Ahh...what I love about that part of the country! Looking forward to my trip...I love visiting my Dad so much...I hope his feelings don't get hurt that I love spending time on his land almost as much as I love him!
No hurry on the email!
An aside...would you be able to capture that floating pollen in a painting? I bet that looked cool!

Our fishing guide told us the water in Lake Catherine is running about 10 degrees cooler than lake Ouchita. Steve, Mary Ann, Annie and I all highly recommend him - John T Hall. Knows his business. When the tornado and storm were blowing through - he left a voice message that he would see us at 5 am the next morning for a good day of fishing. Steve and I had a good day - Mary Ann and Annie had a great day (biggest and first fish respectively).
This is John...
And once again --- this is Mary Ann and Annie

Obviously Mary Ann and Annie don't know the old fisherman's trick about making their fish look bigger. Next time girls, hold the fish out, closer to the camera. It adds size and weight to your catch. Even better if you can make it look like you are struggling to hold them up.

Lol. But Barb.... The ladies needed no trickery. Annie had first fish - 7+ lbs - Mary Ann had biggest 2 fish - 10 + and 19 + lbs. They were lipped on a scale - with their weight clearly seen by all. There was no need for trickery at all. Steve and I were duly bested by our better halves. And it was a mutantastic time.

Yeah...and that fish is half Mary Ann's body length! Unless she's 3'4" tall...that sucker is BIG!

Saw another Dr and talked about the throat pain. He is going to give me Roercet through the tube. Finally, one that understands.
