Why do I have the urge to brush up on my bow skills when I see Chuck's pictures of Turkey and Deer off his deck... I've never bow hunted, but am a decent archer and the challenge would be fun....

I think Dave hit it on the nail regarding "Controller of Steve." When she uses it I hope she doesn't break it on his thick head.

No fear! If you swing it at me I'll take it away from you. If you want to learn how to use it, just ask me. Never swing it except to hit a ball (no, not that one.)

Okay, time to upgrade my GPS. I have the TomTom 1535 and I'm ready to get something new. This has served me well but it is getting old and the battery does not last. Plug it in and it will work. It doesn't have the necessary RV stuff. Just a plain old GPS,
Who has the best of the best?

I would tell ya but I'm shaking in my boots that yer gonna take away my tire knocker... come on round man... lol.
I have only used it a little bit - but I like the Garmin RV760. It is nice to have two profiles set - toad and RV... and I am questioning the CRV GPS after a few routes it has given me. The Garmin has been spot on.

Well I swear by and at my Rank McNally 7710. DW loves the fact it repeats speed limit warnings.

Given that things like tires and maintenance are somewhat the same, I would think the Newmar and Monaco would be at the top of my list.
#1 National -- Love the floors, but almost no closet space. Hard to fulltime in this one.
#2 Newmar -- more closets, nice floor plan, stained carpet needs to go.
#3 Monaco -- wish there was a floor plan, more stained carpet, is that a jackknife sofa? Lower mileage.
#4 Fleetwood -- only 34' long, nice floor plan but carpet must be bad as there are no pictures of it.
#5 HR -- this was a rental unit! Don't waste time looking.
#6 Fleetwood 37' -- if you don't love the decor there would be a lot to redo. So many mirrors, where's the smoke?

Ok, here's where we stand at this point in time:
#1 (National Tradewinds) is still available. Will see it this weekend. Will also check out the storage/closet space.
Just found out this morning that there's a contract on #2 (Newmar Dutchstar). Darn. (Replacing carpet is not a deal-breaker for us. We'll put new floors in if need be.)
#3 is still available (probably because there's no slide) and I'll look at it this weekend. (Again, replacing carpet, not a big deal.) Kate seems to think that since we live outdoors so much, not having a slide wouldn't break her heart. I'm not so sure ....
#4 and #5 are off the list.
#6 we might consider, depending on the extent of the remodeling we'd want to do. I would lose the mirrors. We don't want a rolling casino. If it is still available, I'll drive to AZ next weekend and take a look. We kinda like the floor plan. Here's the link to it: http://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2000-Fleetwood-37-DISCOVERY-112445645
Here are some new listings that I'd love to get opinions on:
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/diesel/2001-Landau-26781.htm No W/D or W/D connections. How important would you guys rate having a W/D on board?
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/diesel/2000-Discovery-By-Fleetwood-27811.htm
Maybe my new favorite: 2001 Marlin By National RV 370 for Sale - D717 - PPL Motor Homes
There's still Alvarado ....

Garmin changes from black to RED when the posted speed is exceeded. That's what I have been told.

I wasn't going to say anything about the look on her face and the gleam in her eye.

Heck, go with Garmin. They invented the thing for the Air Force. My BIL swears by 'em. (He's a pilot.) He keeps a Garmin in his car. Kate & I both have Garmins in our vehicles. Never failed us yet! We have life-time map updates, which is pretty much a "must-have" as far as we're concerned.

I won't let Steve know that there are Catfish and Bass in the water, he may want to come fishing.
And best of all, I am not enticing them to come drink from the pond, but have been known to offer treats occasionally.

That's a shame that #2 has a contract. But maybe I'm partial to Newmars.

Hear-hear!
My 3 inch Garmin NuVi from 2008 is still going strong and up-to-date, and I aint seen any low bridges and such. Must be cuz trucks are on the road. 😉
I dont need waypoints! That is like the impulse buy shelf in a grocery. And too much clutter on the screen, me thinks. Just sayin....

And Bob may enjoy it as well. We also watch these guys fly off the mountain from the porch as well.
