I looked at the Discovery in Lubbock. It's a big NO. One of the bay doors is thrashed and would need to be replaced, and the bay door just next to it is damaged in the lower right corner. $$$ The super-slide awning needs to be replaced. The aluminum trim on one side of the slide has a small spot that is bent; not real badly, but I don't like it. Inside: needs new flooring. Needs a MAJOR cleaning. So, no.

Go figure why someone would advertise a coach to sell and then not even clean it up for showing???

At any rate, the owner of the coach that Wayne & Earlene looked at called me today. I will PM you about it.

I think rather than go to Ft. Worth with Kate this weekend, I'll head down the other direction and take a look at that coach. The one Herb & Barb looked at in Ft. Worth needs 6 new tires now. The other coach needs 2 now, and the other 4 replaced over the next 1-2 years, Wayne tells me (and I certainly trust his judgment).

We're getting close, I think.

M

If the coach is sound, Mel, dont sweat about tires. Over time that is chump change.
Best wishes!

This is our first time in this truck shop so we will see how they do. Several months ago our regular shop told us that the labor for a fuel injector swap out would be $700, but when the bill came it was $1575. Needless to say their has been a lot of conversation about this and we may be swapping shops because of it.

Steve:
We're going to make reservations for Rockport probably tomorrow, but I have forgotten the name of the campground. Can you help?
wow if that was labor only for one injector holy cow. with an injector well it depends on the injector some of the injectors cost 700 by them self. but even if that was the case that leaves 875 in labor wow wish I could charge that and still sleep at night. find a new tech bob. don't take that crap.

Are you talking about coach #1 in Ft. Worth needing 6 new tires right away or coach #2, down south, needing 2 new tires now and 4 more a year or two from now?

If we decide on coach #2, it's no big deal to put the 2 tires on now. We'd just rather not have to fork over the $$ for 6 new tires right away. (We don't like to do credit cards for anything like that. We'll pay cash.) That way we would have a few bucks for some minor cosmetic fixes.

But, Kate expressed her excitement. You have no idea how HUGE that is! She just doesn't get excited about much. But, I saw a little sparkle of it when we looked at the pictures Wayne took of the coach and talked about the possibilities.

If you and Kate like the coach, you are ahead of the game! Tires will get replaced several times. A good coach is a fine start. Fuel tanks need to be filled. Oil gets changed.
It is all about the coach, eh?
You know I only want you to....get a coach and retire and come out an mutate with us! (Grin) I wish you the very best. ❤️
