Fer sher! The aviary was empty the day we ate there. ☹

And btw, I had sopaipillas there too, and I never seen them made so big! Fill that w/ honey!

Good pics of the place. Thanks.

Since it's photo sharing day, thanks to Carl. Here are two I took yesterday while walking thru the BLM south of Tucson. From a distance I thought those were yellow flowers on the barrell cactus, but they are the fruit. The abundant rain this winter has all of the saguaro fat and happy.

We stayed there many times. There's a great spot for smaller rigs up near the big rock, and also on the south end. Great views if you park there.

All the shots were at east/west Saguaro parks minus the 6th one showing the long road (it was on the return trip from the lake we went to visit). The first trip I went to the west Saguaro park, not as tall but still plenty to see. The second trip, even though it shows Coronado on the sign, there's multiple names there, including Mt Lemmon. Confusing for sure, at least to an outsider.

Forgot to mention, traveling West I got 8.1Mpg average and traveling East I am sitting on 10.2Mpg. Windl a big factor on drag.

Carl, did you figure your MPG both directions?

Nah, it is what it is Besides, I was driving faster than usual since I had no toad so it'd probably be something I didn't want to know anyhow. I'll calculate the overall mileage once I see my Pilot statement so I know all the fuel stops are on it. You are right about the wind though, driving east was a lot easier than west. At least most of the time.

I don't really check milage either. I do look at the computer by trip and daily leg, but as long as it's showing (rightly or wrongly) between 8.6 and 9.6 I figure performance is still where it ought to be. Can't move without fuel - but even worse - can't move if you ignore engine performance changes and something goes toes up.

I run the Silverleaf application with the ODB II connector. Allows me to display lots of operating gauges and I pay careful attention to the manifold temp to know when it's safer to shut down (without coking up the turbo). Here's a screen shot of my layout:

I pretty much won't drive the bus if this isn't running. That's why I noticed crazy MPG when going from Benson to Tucson that morning as the wind was westbound as my MPG going UPHILL was most unusual, around 12 which is insane. Usually going uphill I get 4!!! Something was pushing me along...
