This is a smaller version of my next RV

Escape II: The Towable Houseboat Of Our Dreams

We need a bit more space in order to full time in one.

Or ... speaking of the future -- I'd like to see a less than 30 Class D motorhome. The most exciting feature will be a cockpit that unplugs from the front of what otherwise looks and drives like a Class A diesel pusher. The unplugged portion becomes your toad, that way only 1 set of controls to learn because we know they'll even be more complicated. Both will be hydrogen fuel cell powered with the regenerative braking of a hybrid. The toad will have only a small engine -- enough to power it. The bulk of the power plant will remain with the living unit.

That is assuming that Star Trek type transporters aren't created first.

Barb, I think they call that a TV (tow vehicle) and a fifth wheel.

Do any of your furkids have any odd behaviors? Yes, Sena has tons of them, but it's 8 pound Lily I'm talking about now. For the last month or so she guards me while I'm sitting on the toilet. When I sit down she comes running. I never close the door so I can see what Sena is getting into. Lily will come close, but never touches me and faces away watching what might try to get me. Once I stand up she goes back to what she was doing before I interrupted her. This only happens during daylight hours. After dark I'm on my own against the monsters.

No, I'm thinking of something more integrated and the house part would hold the heavy duty motor. I'd want to be able to enter the cockpit module without having to leave the safety of the housing module, too.

Oh, and make it so the house part would float. Hmm, it may have to be 3 pieces that fit together -- floatable housing module, heavy duty powered unit that holds housing module and provides for cross country travel and the detachable cockpit/toad.

This is totally acceptable to dogs..... she is guarding you. Both of mine do it... if i kinda try to close the door, they both want in first, so i normally just leave it open.... unless i want the privacy
also they are so used to you going with them, that they think they should go with you, that again acceptable.... remember dogs are pack animals.... after dark, she is probably relying more on her ears than eyes...... btw, if i tell QT to close the door, she will....

Okay, so I'm stoked. In the middle of the continuing rain, a knock at the rig door ... and a voice says, "So you're a mutant too!", or something similar. I immediately went into shock and Eyephoto got a great view of my tonsils.

Mini-C, first class, Jon's first. With any luck, there will be many more for him, & his DW (or .5 or 1/2 or....) Ellen too. That man drove 2 hours across from St. Louis to meet his first mutant face to face! I feel honored that we were in the right place at the right time.

Stay tuned! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening, & look forward to meeting up again.

Cheers, and "Night, Jon!"
