R U an RV Mutant too?

OK, who knows cameras? More specifically, digital DSLR's. I'm leaning towards a full frame model and looking for any input from folks that like seeing others spend money

I have one in mind and have looked a lot at the non-full frame models, mainly the Nikon 500 which rocks but for some reason I still think a FF model is more what I'm interested in if I'm spending upwards of that kind of money.

Although the fruit phone takes nice pics, that bizarro depth-of-field they added drives me to want a real camera again.

Update on "Queen" Ann: Still visiting new Doctors looking for one that has graduated from the "Practicing Medicine" to a "Real Doctor"... Working on GI problems before we can attack the "Afib"... Thanks for your Ohhmmmss, the only thing that keeps her going...

We enjoy riding the rainbow vicariously on this thread...

Thanks for the update Richard, prayers going up from our house. Y'all get out any in next couple weeks come on by the State Park. Will have mucho family there till Monday but then it drops back to Mary and Me and maybe only 1 or 2 grands. We'll have some lawn chairs waiting on you.

If you are mainly taking wildlife pix the APC size sensor gives you a 1.5 X magnification and for birds this is great. I have over 900 MM with my Sony A6300 and a Tamron 150 - 600 lens.

Carl, Alan is throwing some interesting numbers at you but failed to mention a proven option. The Acme 5000 has been a leader in capturing both the fast action of the "Road Runner" along with the all telling still shots of the fails of "Wylie Coyote". Just another option.

I almost purchased that Acme 5000 last night but thought it might be best to get other opinions

Carl, I have a Cannon T2I and it takes wonderful pictures but it is lacking in one thing. Built-in GPS for the ability to geotag. But then I purchased mine several years ago and never considered the option.

Many times I have to search back through notes Earlene has made to try and determine where a picture was taken. Very time consuming.

Be prepared to spend $$Thousands of dollars for a good camera and lenses. Example: Nikon DLSR's range from $1200 to $$Several thousand.

Do a search on DLSR Reviews for some good information.

And I understand the costs involved, that's why I'm staying away from things like the Nikon D5, the Sony Alpha A9, all very highly rated but way over what I'm willing to spend (both of those are over $5k just for the body). But I'm also not looking for sub-$1k cameras either.

Alan's point was good to stay away from the higher-cost full frame cameras and that's part of my decision conundrum, each have pluses and minuses.

Carl - this is what I got when I made the change to digital in 2014 (other than fixed lenses). They have some newer models but this is still a good buy. In fact a better buy than when I bought it. Bluetooth file transfer is nice via app - a lttle clunky but works well.
