Try: Campgrounds | Camping Upper Peninsula of Michigan - UP Travel

Since I am home-bound for a while, I love to plan...

Lets treat Annie right & make her happy !!

I agree it the UP was wonderful..... and was on my lust to return to, just like Oregon....

but i was thinking really central... like to where a lot of PEOPLE really could plan on coming.... those who are not as flexible might be able to make a middle country area.....

you and Annie need to do the UP, and you are fortunate to be able to....but the extreme edges of the continental USA are not practical for some.... we had more participation at CL than any other location...

I had never been to CL prior to the first GC, so I am not pushing that, but doesnt Missouri have some possibilities..... we do have more active mutants in some areas.... but maybe it is because we are not trying to find a middle area.....

You all know about Larry's health, some follow our info more than others, but for many of us it might NOT ever again be a possibility to travel to Maine, to Oregon, to Florida.... but that is not why I am fussing..... because I know none of the mutants that I have met can tell the future, so anyone planning might not make it...

I just needed to rant.... i am not happy about finally realizing that Oregon is not doable... and I so do not want to miss all of the fun... so maybe we plan a people Get together, not a destination get together...

And Steve don't you dare tell me it is my choice.... seriously, when you said that to me before, it hurt..... but I dont think you knew that....

Ok... that said.... Larry is having some breathing issues... ohmms are always good... back to Dr tomorrow, for more tests....

Aune-Osborn Park
The Aune-Osborne RV Park in the Michigan Soo is within a few feet of being able to touch 1000+ foot great lakes transporters. I have stayed there when I lived in the twin city right across the Saint Mary's River. Lots to see and do and some pretty awesome restaurants and tourist sites within an hour of the place.

Stay well muteys. Enjoy that sweet thing. Remember to enjoy those years before they know everything there is to know. That's about age 16 for boys, 15 for girls.
ha!

Steve that is Chris Zaldaine my son is paired with. The winner of the past two days was Mark Davis, former guide from Lake Ouchita.

Your dauther is beutiful. I know you must miss her greatly.

The UP sounds good to us but maybe we can do one of those moving GC like last year where we started at PEI, added more at Saint Andrews then the crowed at Bah Haaba. Just an idea. Gaither mid way then those that want to go UP move on up.

If no acceptable sites on UP how about somewhere around the Mackinaw bridge? That's been on our bucket list. How bout it Jeff, flood us with suggestions! Michigan may never be the same!

Our son and DIL have a 5er with 3 slides and there is plenty of room for the walking 11 month old and all the necessary equipment she requires!

By the way, thank goodness she took after Andrea!

So how'd they do Tim. Is there an air date? I still watch when I can.

I'm with you on Makinaw. And so is Annie. It would just seem a shame to go all that way and not get a little taste of the Yoops... And as I was trying to say the other night, even when full time living, you can't see everything at once. You could run yourself ragged trying to see all of Idaho or Oregon, Or Yellowstone, SD, MT, ND... etc. in one summer / fall.

We now have as many miles on CR-V Mutant as we do on Bonita. The car had 5 miles on it when we got her in 2014, Bonita had 16k when we got her in 2012. So we do our fair share of day trips.

For instance - It's 2.5 hours to Mount Hood from Idanha. We are already looking at that as a day trip. If we like it and want to stay we can get a room for a night. As for 5 hour round trip, it's a long day of sight seeing but sunset will still be late enough to make the trip in daylight.

When I read that, I thought, wow, Tim is declaring a Mutant Tour! Perhaps MT 2017? Or Mutants on Tour 2017? What a concept, will there be tickets?

If staying at Mackinaw you would want to to the island, and the Soo Locks aren't far, nor is Fayette State Park, Cheboygan is also good for a day trip, and there are parks on the lake Superior shore line that are good, in fact I haven't even been up there, and if you are real adventurous there's Copper Harbor, I haven't been there either.
