Happy Indepenance day, Y'all.
Wow! Time sure is flying! In 5 short weeks we'll be headed to Idanha. Lots to get done before then. So many plans, so little time, so little energy. Getting old sux!
I hope everyone has a great time today.

Tell me about it! Wanna wash Honey, get her spiffed up... get a new fill port for the propane tank installed, ordering and installing a base plate and tow bar on the Jeep! Never mind, packing up, thinking about meals, etc., etc. etc!

Heya, DFloyd! If deer camp rules work for you, you may be mutant material! Take a look at our very first posts to get a better idea of what we're about, then tell us what your RV doesn't have that you don't miss. You may pass the excruciatingly rigorous exam & earn your very own RVM number!
I'm RVM #36, longtime RVer, snowbird, retired general loaf-about. Welcome to the madne ... err, thread!

Hey, if I had your money I could do that also. Good thing you have the Brit $$ coming in.
I'll inquire about the strength. The contractor said to stay 12" from the sides as there is where concrete is prone to crack. I said that was not an option as I needed to be 6" away. He said he would put in a beam.

Maybe as far South as you are it isn't necessary though... do make sure they put in expansion/contraction joints though to reduce the chances of cracking.
Again I'm used to writing specs for 100 degree temperature swings in a year, your climate might not have that much difference (aren't the seasons in your part of Texas 'not too hot, too hot, too freaking hot and still too hot'?)...

It rarely gets to freezing in these parts but when it does it is just overnight but I'll ask the installer.

No snakes here, well except for an occasional RVM visitor. No names mentioned for fear of reprisal. Mosquitoes not bad this year as far as I'm concerned. Good breezes have kept them down. I also fog the yard occasionally and that helps. Yep, got rid of most of the shell roads in the early 60's, maybe let 50's. My FIL had a shell driveway and thought paving it was better than peanut butter. Those oyster shells could cut up a tire if not crushed right.

Earlene is wise in her ways. Has chauffeur, and her car stays pristine.

It's a 2004 and almost in pristine condition. Rides well and is comfortable. After a few months though the extended warranty expires 'cause it is over 10 years old. Not to worry nothing much happens to a Lincoln anyhow.Looks the same today as it did then.

The hardest thing to give up for me was my garden. So I took my favorite plants, potted them and bring them with us. I put them in the shower (they have plenty of light and water while we travel) Then set them out when we park. It's not my garden but it seems to satisfy the gardener in me. Drives my husband crazy but he puts up with it.

Me too! Plants travelled in the shower till the cats' litterbox had to go there. Now I put planter boxes in the basement where there's a little heat, & DH rigged a couple of grow lights for travel.
You fulltiming?

Big job, but exciting for you, too. A number of us mutants are FT & they all seem to love the lifestyle. It comes highly recommended.
I'm looking for some other mutants to wake up or get back from day trips & hotdog eating contests to say howdy to you. Happy Fourth!
PS: I just realized where you're from! We spent some time camped in Golden Valley last spring and enjoyed Kingman.
