I wish ya could Carl! It's actually beautiful right now.
The steam engine was running when we arrived. The whistle was grand! May have to ride this one.
There is too much to see and do for a 4 night stay. I don't much care for this vacation mode. I wish Earlene were here to go with us. She'd make sure we see the best of it. We may day trip 50 miles north to Astoria... not sure what the next couple of days will involve. Hopefully not bail money.

Astoria. Goonies. Good state park. Drive over the bridge. I made a navigator error. Oops. They were painting it too. Nail biter. Neat town.

Thanks for the tips!
When we leave here we go about an hour south to Lincoln City. From there we plan to day trip south down to Florence. If we go to Astoria we will have covered the coast from north to as far south as Bandon. That's most of 101 in Oregon. Will catch the rest next time.

We did the 101 a few years ago... started in Astoria wet the entire coast, spent the entire month of July doing it... loved it.. be sure and pick up the 101 by the mile magazine....

Just some thoughts...
There is lots of wasted space in California.
There are too many people in the usable space in California.
Lots of people want to go the same places I want to go.
Traffic jams can occur at any point in time.
Golden Gate Bridge is spectacular, even draped in fog.
Driving Lombard street was less than spectacular, but we did it!
Today, Santa Cruz!
