He mentioned going north a ways a few days ago... There was also talk about a strung along the eclipse route unofficaial C of mutants who want to get together or via web stuff for the great mooning... You'll have to go back and read more carefully, I don't think specific places were mentioned, but I could be wrong.

Bout to be blown off the side of the hill here at our cg. We're able to see two of the arches in Arches NP. The view, wifi, and cable are the best features of our 8 day place of lodging (Archview RV Resort). $63 a night.
Visited Canyonlands NP via the south entrance today. About 150 miles roundtrip. The northern entrance is across the highway from us. that happening Sunday. Tomorrow we visit the Red Cliffs Lodge. It's about 20 miles away on the Colorado River (to the east). Favorite lodging place of John Wayne when filming in this area. Lodge has a film archives and museum. Should be fun.
No pics to share today. Beautiful southwestern cliffs, buttes, valleys, colors of all kinds. We've seen similar many times. We still look forward to seeing the northern section of Canyonlands.

Sorry for delay.. Riding my 4 wheeler ( that is also a mower )...
About 400 mi N. of us @ S. Sandusky COA Illinois was the closest we could get to totality, to camp Sunday night. Then plan to drive about 40 mi to Ferne Clyffe SP in IL for the best view... Then return to let Ann rest up Monday night & return Tuesday.. Everything so booked up at this late date...
The way I figure, Oregon will have max event about 10:20 Their time, or 12:20 CDT in Illinois... The prime time where we will be is 1:20 Central, so we plan to be connected by "Virtual Mutant Illusion" and maybe some others can connect for this "Coast-to-coast" historic event... Like many of my ideas, they are unusual... But, I am an "Idea" guy, just not much for "Execution".
We originally planned to be in Oregon, and possibly caravan with Tim... When reality set in, this didnt work out... Just trying to be part of the Huge event somehow...

As I'm not towing anything to the RVM00ning, I needed to stop and get another EZ-Pass for the RV that didn't include the car. They were really nice and set me up with one that has just the RV. I know some of you would avoid toll roads, but I'm pressed for time so that'll be a future option for me. A number of states I go through will be collecting additional funds from me

And they appreciate every penny, I'm sure. And if you don't watch your speed they'll appreciate you even more.

I hope you didn't put any of that Glass Beach glass in your pocket. That's against the law and I'd tell on you.

You just think I'm up. I leave the computer on and the browser on this thread and it fools you into thinking I'm watching you. I am, so be wary.

Marty, if you are susceptible to breathing problems because of smoke it would be a good idea to carry your equipment with you. Never know when you are out there when a fire somewhere blowing smoke your way (not mutants blowing smoke, like Tim) will affect you. Be safe - take it with you.
