We were in Fairmont MT for a few days (now in Dillon). First night, we saw another Pace Arrow across the park, about same age as ours. Next day it was gone but there was another one parked behind us, it was one year newer than ours. Then, as I was loading the car on the trailer yesterday, another one pulled in 2 spaces away. It was 4 years newer. I NEVER see another Pace Arrow in the same park (except once), let alone 3 in 2 days...

Went to a brothel in Butte MT yesterday...

We were thinking of going to Nevada City & Virginia City MT on Tuesday. Has anyone here been to either? Are they worth the trip?

Marty, I have had Demco and now Blue Ox and here is what I found for both of them. They do not have to be even with the MH. Any angle should be okay. If there is a bind on the pin, turn the steering wheel all the way to left or right. Best if two people doing it but not necessary. if the direction you turn it does not work turn it back in the opposite direction. This should cause the pressure to release and the pin can be pulled.
Sometimes just turning the wheel half way left or right will loosen the shackle and the pin can be pulled.

Another way is to put the vehicle in drive or reverse and just nudge it. That sometimes helps but turning the wheel is the better way.

p.s. sometimes when hooking up one leg will not lock. Turn the wheel in the direction of the leg that will not lock and just pull forward with the MH. This should cause the unlocked arm to engage. Nice to have two people and one watching the latching mechanism but not really necessary.

Another way is to turn the wheel in the opposite direction of the arm that is not locked, put the vehicle in reverse and bump it back. Much easier to pull the MH forward.

Marty I'm going to state the obvious. Make sure toad has the brake set or at least gears are engaged before unhooking from the MH!

Simple sounding but at the first GCatCL, while standing at the office waiting on the Texas contingency to roll in a lady went about unhooking her toad while DH went in to check in. You guessed it, car started rolling backwards. She was lucky 1) that it rolled backwards and didn't pin her between toad and MH 2) that me and several others were there to help stop it before it got out of control completely.

If transmission is disengaged having it in park will not hold it! Use parking brake!

It may be obvious Tim but it's always a good thing to point that out. I can't recall every seeing my my car start rolling away more than once

I was yelling at the top of my lungs and Annie running... after a guy pulling out this morning. He left the toad in park. Fortunately in gravel and between the sluggish start, my yelling and Annie running - he stopped... oh the humanity. Annie could smell the rear tires rubber...

While we are all giving you new to toading advice, here's mine -- count how many steps you need to do before your toad is PROPERLY connected. Include each connection as a step and taking your toad out of gear AND releasing toad's emergency brake as steps. Then as you are making the connections if your count isn't right go back and check everything and recount until you make sure it's all done perfectly. Also, don't let anyone or anything distract you while you are going thru the process. I have come close to disaster too many times.

I do know of a really cute red Smart Car that got killed last winter because it was drug about 2 miles in park.

We are relaxing at a very nice harvest host site. Spent a couple hours picking raspberries as the host told us to help our selves. Have them frozen already, should go well with crepes. Currently in Shoshoni WY. Looks like we will be taking a long route to avoid some altitude as Jackie has come down with a cold. Heading south towards Salt Lake City.
