PoP???
Ok, so are you planning to order baby chicks or go buy them from Tractor Supply? Don’t forget the brooder, waterer and feed trough! Are those calculated in your $50/dozen price tag or has the price gone up?
Chicken coop and run - $350
Feed and supplies - $75
Baby chicks -$50
Smile and laughter from grandkids - priceless

On the bright side, every time you clean the coop and run you will have nice clean organic fertilizer. You’ll have 10 pound maters!

Use the Neilmed saline nasal irrigation. It's yucky at first but what a relief it is in the long run. It really helps!

I've had lots of people who've had the "roto-rooter" as one of my friends calls it, tell me that I'll be very glad I'm having it done. Deviated septum like you, Steve. Enlarged turbinates need trimming, and a blocked ostia opened up. Surgeon says it's easier to recover from this than from a tonsilectomy as an adult. So I'm hoping it won't be too bad. Yes I do use the Neilmed! I like the bottle better than the Neti Pot. Doc also has me on Flonase 2x/day.

It's so true! And you'll know exactly what's been IN that fertilizer, too....

Next, Tim will buy a gross of jumbo eggs, 40 roasted hens and use the coop for a bat house.

Have I mentioned I hate FB? It made me send them a photo and it is still hasn’t been reviewed. I suspect it broke their system. They won’t let me log in.
Tim,
If you don’t do baby chicks your GKs will miss a ton of fun.

By the time I get the run finished I probably won't have to worry about the weather! Was going to work on it this afternoon, after I got off from w$$k but all my woods wet!

I hate it too, (FB) we only put up with it to see pics of the GKs. Chicks have to be nurtured for 6 months before any eggs and by then we'll be going to the MiGC.

Sounds like payback for tending cows owned by DS. . They'll need to watch them while you're gone anyway, right?

Your right! DIL said about a year ago that GD needed some chickens to play with. That lead to I'll help you Grampa if you get chickens. I think all was forgotten till I told them I was getting chickens. Look on DIL face was priceless! I plan on making homemade feeders and waterers that will go weeks without needing tended to so that just leaves collecting eggs. We will have access to nest from outside making collection easy. Run will be built pest and predator proof so they won't have to be locked in coop each night. (I hope)
Barb I posted a pop on the RVM yahoo site!

Barb, I received it successfully, many thanks for the welcome! I will check out the links, and the acronym list is quite helpful! Thanks again.
