Hey Wayne, you are already into the roster stuff. Wanna help?

Yes, I nominate RVM's 1-13 and 15-172.
In the meantime I will assist Di, if I can.

I'm going to add an HD dish to my coach, I already have the traveler in motion unit. I hear DTV is doing away with SD TV soon. I'm also hearing Dish is a better deal. I will make the switch to Dish after contract runs out. But will my Winegard be useless, is my question.
I am going to assume "no," and my reasoning is the wind resistance to an open faced antenna on the roof. the dome in-motion have little wind resistance due to the curvature of the dome, the travler would be turning towards the satellite and creating varing directions of wind during travel.

That's my final answer. However, if you find out differently let me know.

Here's a long answer...[emoji1]
I am sometimes the same way, I remember faces, and that makes things even more frustrating trying to place the face to "where". Atribute that to the music biz, I've seen lots of faces.
Anyway, actually I'm Bill, or W.D., or (I've been given a new nickname here which I dig), "Deuce" relating to the car, which was known as the Deuce and a quarter, (225). The 1st Admiral of the U.S. Navy is my ancestor, George Dewey. So I've been called Admiral for years, (also my C.B. handle). I have noticed I'm not the only Bill around here, so I've been thinking of signing posts -"Willie", it is my name, and Willie Nelson is one of my heroes/inspirations. [emoji1]

Admiral Wiilie Bill W.D. Deuce RVM #172, over and out!

Wayne we misunderstood each other I think. I was speaking specifically regarding the dome Winegard traveler. Mine is Directv. Can it be converted to receive Dish satellite signals? Or will it be rendered useless when Directv ceases to brodcast SD signals?

When you said "converted" I wondered if you meant converting a unit to accept a different provider......or switching out completely to different equipment.

Deuce I new you was way to nice to be another Tim!

Wayne is easily confused, might I suggest you use my buddy goggle and the model number of your sat. to obtain that information. I had a Khl or something like that, that was reprogram able but the cost to do the reprogramming was more than I could buy a tailgater for. When I had a new roof put on following the Hail of a GC I just removed the old sat. dome and currently stay entertained by talking with my wife. And using what cable I can get at campsites. Our main concern is a local weather report regardless where we are at.

Deuce I ment to add if you'll add the name you'd prefer to be called to your signature, many including myself will most likely use it!

I'm thinking I might get me one of those Bobsled uniforms. I'd look all aerodynamic! What do you think Richard, you want to order one too?

Converted was just the antenna. The Trav'ler 1000 is an open face antenna. One that is Direct TV can be converted over to DISH by changing out the LNB and parabolic dish and a few gadgets inside at the receiver. The control module stays the same as does the motor mechanisms.

Some domes are programmable through touch pad and some are with DIP switches (not to be confused with Tim) inside the dome.

When you get ready for the big move contact Winegard for the latest and greatest.

Winegard Contact
