We had our coffee, watched tv and then she plugs in her curling iron and it is not working. I cannot reset the GFI plug.

I break out the manuals and start trouble shooting. All the circuit breakers are on. Still cannot reset. TV, lights, microwave, refrigerator, everything working. More searching. Last evening she washed clothes and dried them. Everything working fine. More manual searching didn't help. Washer and drier on same GFCI circuit so we unplugged them. Still a dead plug receptacle. Time to call Winnebago support,

Walking by the EMS (Electrical Management System) I opened the panel and checked what systems were drawing what.

Hey! The inverter is on!! Darn, we have been without electricity for a couple hours now. Inverter will not run circuit the washer and drier are connected to. Everything else works off the inverter.

Life is good!
Isn't it amazing! RVs actually have power without being plugged in. We haven’t been plugged in since we left the RV park in North Little Rock last November and yet we have lived life in a reasonably typical manner. It just takes a few solar panels and a wee bit of patience to enjoy RV life outside of an RV park.

Off-grid life is GREAT!

Off-grid until time to turn on the A/C...or cook something in the microwave...then it's how long of an extension cord do i need...

Hey, Charlene, the solder work on those pipes looks great, only one scorch mark on the studs. Nice.

We're in Tucson until Monday then Tombstone for a few days, then headed North + East. Trying to find the best route from Tombstone to Carthage MO now...

Dave 66,

The A/C and microwave require that I start the generator. My travel schedule usually eliminates the need for A/C. At least that's my goal. We still need heat at night here. The microwave rarely runs.

Oh no! I won’t tell Lily - she's half Yorkshire terrier. Oh, Yorkshire pudding. Never mind.

Hey Dave,

What's on top of those Tabasco barrels? They don’t look sealed.

One thing positive on the power outage, the auto-start for the generator worked.

Barb, I believe it is salt that forms a crust during the brine/ aging process.

Mmm...it smells so good in there!

And hmmm... I'm wondering what that syrup with a few drops of Tabasco stirred into it would taste like over, say, waffles and bacon. How many crates of it did you get for family gifts, eh?
