Do you leave a trail of pretzels or something to find your way back? Tim wanted to know but was being shy.

The pretzel thing wouldn't work, dog would eat 'em. Nah, I just use the TV volume as a homing beacon.

Hi Everybody!

Well we took Clora Mae to Iowa for our first camping trip of the year. I drove her, twice, by myself. Much less scared to do that, now. Much more likely to go to the FEUMGC even if Allen can't make it, assuming Clora Mae is running fine.

So we have a few issues... besides the tire valve stem ones -- thanks to everyone who chimed in on FB about those! I think we can get that issue fixed and Allen seems confident.

The other issue is gauges. The engine temperature and oil gauges aren't working right. We stopped and made sure we had fluids filled up so it wasn't that; but Allen was concerned that the gauges may be showing nothing because there's issues with the circulation of the fluids. So he's doing some research but likely will need to put her up on her leveling blocks in our driveway and get under to take a look.

The water heater is also acting up again, so I think we may need to do some work on that. Hot water from kitchen and bathroom but none in shower. Oddity. Not a blockage. Cold water definitely coming out of both sides from the shower hose. Just hot water not making it.

On the plus side, she did great for our trip. Oldest son spent the 3 days with us as he was also in the tournament, just two divisions up from us. DIL and grandson also came for an overnight. First time grandson camping. He had a blast.

Charlene

Great to hear things went well for the most part, and a safe trip!
That's great about your grandson, he will remember that forever I guarantee it.

Thanks to Tim/Mary !!! They met us at Mr Whiskers for long overdue lunch just before I starved. No pictures, so it may not have happened.

Stopped for the night at Lazy Day campground off I-70 near Danville, MO. We found this little gem by accident last year when we had to change our route due to flooding along I-44. Will get outside in a bit and get some photos. Spring is finally arriving here and trees are in bud and flowering.

Charlene, your gauge problems may be the senders rather than the gauges themselves or possibly the connections are corroded or come loose at the senders. It's possible the wiring for both of them are running together along the top of the engine, then separate and go one to a cylinder head or the top of the block and the other down to the side of the block to their respective senders. See, Clora Mae is old enough I might be able to speak her language...What did you say the engine was? I'm more fluent in old Ford but speak a smattering of GM & Mopar.
