As always if I can help you've got my number, if heavy lifting is involved you've got Richards number!

Tim !! You know I had to comment & I have been pondering for days to send an appropriate reply.

Alas, I can only say, I never have a problem with the heaviest articles, it only takes my cell to "call the guy"...

We understand. Just name it & don't tell Tim to give me location & time ---- he sends us to the wrong place.

I am so happy with my cap. I am pressure washing it inside and out tomorrow. It is a tad grimy. I have also figured out my bear-country sleeping arrangement. I am installing an interior frame in which to diagonally hang a hammock. My tent will suffice most of the time.

Very nice story about sleeping in the pasture.

The hillbilly strap was applied just in case-as only two vise-grips and two g-clamps were holding it on. And... I did not personally install the g-clamps, and... I am my fathers daughter.

Next purchase will be a swing-away hitch carrier basket, to hold stuff like the stove and tent.

Much to do and create! [emoji847]

This is a marvelous group.

Barb, My attendant will be Bob this time... he's not quite as entertaining as my sister was, but first time, I slept an awful lot... might be the difference. We'll see, I'll give an update.

Bev,

I had a pickup back in the 90s and I put a camper shell on it with those clamps. We lived 5 miles from pavement down a country road. I hadn’t had it on very long before the clamps slipped and damaged the paint.

You might want to consider mounting the cap more permanently.

Exciting stuff! I love your plans & look forward to seeing you with your new home soon!

My new hammock arrived the other day & Martin set up the old frame in the yard. Now to muscle it into the shadiest, handiest spot I can find & then think about rigging some mosquito netting over it.

Cheers!
PS: I'm not dancing quite yet & not going out into the yard (even though the weeds are thumbing their green noses at me!) for a while. Gardening on the deck instead. Three more weeks in the boot. [emoji41] [emoji126]

Yes. thanks! The cap is now off, since arrival home, pending cleaning and applying a heavy-duty seal and bolting on securely.

Since I have a mid-size truck, it seemed the smartest solution for now, especially as I do not want to permanently dedicate the space to a platform bed.

Mosquitos! ugh. I hope you get some netting soon. They dont seem to bite me, like they do other folks, but their annoying whine irritates me lol.

I hope you get rid of the glorious boot soon. I had to wear one, in Louisiana in the summer heat. I feel for you.

I cannot wait to meet/see everyone.

Thanks. It is necessitated by the confines of space. Besides, my Dr says it will be better for my back. Luckily a friend is a retired architect.
