Aside from S'mores & potatoes cooked with the coals, there is a whole universe of foods we could try out.

Martin used to make "dampers", simple bread on a stick, similar to what Mother made w/ Bisquick. Tim has a Dutch oven, I believe, which can make all sorts of dishes (including a mean peach cobbler). Cooking in foil is another option, since we won't have banana leaves.

Is anybody game?

Well, I bake bread in the Dutch Oven, and beans, of course.

Thanks all for your great suggestions! Since I will be doing off-road stuff, (4WD, high clearance,)I have opted for firmly bolting down the cap. There will be a whole lot of flexing going on. I am probably gonna buy some Harbor Freight mats, and use velcro on the sides and tailgate. I almost got a cap, that would eliminate the tailgate, but then, being full-time, where would I put the removed gate? All suggestions are dearly appreciated. I have not gone full-time in such a minimalist fashion before.

Here's an update on the slide.

1st Choice RV (1stchoicerv.com) has been our mobile repair company while here in the Charleston, SC., area. Steve came by a little after 4 p.m. and trouble shot the problem. Yep, slide wasn't coming in but he really knew that already. He did is magic trouble shooting this line and that line and finally came to the conclusion that it is the slide controller. I shadowed him and agree, well as much as MY knowledge can.

Here's the kicker. The kitchen slide is Power Gear. The bedroom slide is Schwintek. The Power Gear controller is a Schwintei controller part # 366484. Just have to find one now.

Slide is in. Tomorrow we head to Myrtle Beach and a campground right behind a Lippert dealer. Our plans have been foiled for a week or so but we should have the parts before M........er....soon.

Wayne, sure is good to know the solution is on the way.
You needed to Mutate through the process, but that’s expected! [emoji304]

Things that break or don't work have their toll on me. Makes me want to sit around and pout thinking that will fix it.

I'm the same way, except I add some ugly talk to the pouting. Hope all gets fixed up soon.

My humble apologies for the profanity. They told me when I left the hospital after a colonoscopy this morning that I'd be considered "under the influence" for the rest of the day. It's kinda hard to think after all the drugs they pumped into me. I should have kept my fingers still. The devil made me do it!
