Tom and Jan,
We are both sorry you won't be able to make the GC in Texas.
Hope to see you in Florida next January when we will hopefully be down that way.

[emoji23] Captain Kangaroo was mentioned, so the puppet from that show, Mr. Moose came to mind. The running gag on the show was, Mr. Moose always dumping a load of ping pong balls on unsuspecting Capt. Kangaroo's head. I just for fun attached this to (our) Mr. Moose.
Bob Keeshan (Kangaroo) was also the original Bozo the clown.
Useless information is my middle name. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji6]

I led an underprivileged childhood. Captain Kangaroo was on a channel we couldn't get! Boo hoo, pity me!

OTOH, I do remember (vaguely, as w/ many things these days) the Little Rascals, The Lone Ranger, some cowboy Cassidy, Buck Rogers .... & my favorite: Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent one of the glove puppets on Kukla, Fran, & Ollie.

Good grief!

Ah yes, good stuff! I remember Kukla, Fran, & Ollie.....haven't seen that in quite a while.
It's disturbing how most all of the Little Rascals cast met grim fates. I haven't seen any of those old shows in a long time. They were very funny.
The (I believe) last remaining "rascal" is not exempt from the grim fate thing. I'm speaking of Robert Blake..... in prison for death of wife. Can't recall if it's murder or manslaughter. Bizarre history and endings for the once, well really the first, generation of child actors.

I was not awate of any of that. Wonder if being child actors had anything to do with it. It has to have been a strange lifestyle for children, & their parents, too, esp. w/ little institutional knowledge of how best to raise them in those settings.

Well dang! I posted some information and for some reason, not my fault of course, it didn't get posted. Oh oh! Me tinks me posted on rally thread. Yep! here it is again.
-----------------------------------------------------

Well, I don't know how I have done it for this many years. Fifty-eight years ago on March 17th, Earlene railroaded me into a lifetime commitment. I'm telling my side of the story. How did I put up with her for all these years!

Yesterday, our sons took us out for our anniversary and by the good luck we were able to have Sue and Martin with us. The location was Thai Stellar in Webster, TX. A good time was had by all.

Here is the PoP:
