Today a different adventure. I was needing a ditch dug and the friends backhoe that I normally use is not available. Another friend offered his mini excavator, simular to a backhoe but on tracks so I meet him today. Hopeing I could con my son into giving me a hand I was talking to him last night. Sad news was he's busy, bad news was he said you know dad the controls on the mini-X are reversed from a backhoe!
Now that I know this I'm afraid a couple hour j*b may turn into an all day er. If controls work backwards I may be filling a ditch back in all day when I'm trying to dig one!
This should be fun!

Howdy y’all. Looked back a few pages and see that y’all are still talking up a storm on a daily basis! Hope everyone is doing well.
Well, I’ve found a new fun thing to do. A friend of mine and I are doing some music gigs / entertaining at RV parks now! We sang for crowds at River Ranch RV Park just outside Ruidoso Downs on 2 different weekends now. Have sound equipment, will travel!
Also, Kate and I sold the Tiffin coach a couple of years ago, bought a Crossroads Cruiser fiver (piece of junk), put it on consignment and will pick up our new 2018 Grand Design Reflection 303rls 5th wheel in Fort Worth on Tuesday. (NOT a piece of junk!)
25th anniversary coming up in 2020, so we are planning to go on a cruise to Alaska in May! Anyone who has done a cruise up there have any pointers or advice?
Mel (and Kate, who says “Hi!”

Land and sea or seaport only? Congrats on your musical gigs AND your upcoming anniversary.

Hi back to Kate.
We have done the Alaska Cruise and will be doing it again some time kinda soon. If you drink more than a cocktail a meal buy the second from the top booze bundle. Its about $300.00 and worth more for the average drinker. Read the 'tour' offerings port by port and sometimes its better to book on shore. In Ketchikan do the duck tour as that's a hoot. In Icy Straight(s) do the zip line as its the only one we heard of that claims 100 MPH speeds. Juneau's bus tour to the Glaciers is awesome. If I think of anything else I will PM you.
