Bill, do you think we would need to alert the local authorities?

You'd be speaking of Sperry Univac I believe. My aunt worked there.
As for the authorities, I have a deputy on speed dial. [emoji23]
Those Pueblo/Texas Creek pics are really cool. Fascinating place....

Bill you aren't going to plant any of those 'jumping' trees, are you?

No, this is a park for an RVer designed by an RVer....least that's what I was shootin' for.
Only trees where they don't bother anyone, I hope.[emoji16]

Bill, after buying and spreading 9 million pounds of gravel, you must be an expert. Does this look like 20 tons to you? For perspective the fence behind the piles is 4’ tall. I was hoping 20 tons would be a lot more than 3 piles. But I am going to spread it with a shovel, rake and wagon so I guess I should be glad it isn’t.

I’ve always heard, "what doesn’t kill you only serves to make you stronger". And we know that’s true, don’t we?
At my last visit to the pain doc he said, "don’t lift more than 10 pounds at a time." I just rolled my eyes. I guess I’m destined to be a hunch backed old lady. Ten pound limit? Geez! I’d never get anything done.

Nope, the dump truck came down from the north and his load was well covered. He did almost get stuck in the loose sand in our driveway. I was afraid I was going to be pulling him out with Homer.

That looks about right Barb. It don't take much volume in rocks to make lots of weight. Each truck load probably averages (depending on # of axles), 5 to 7 tons.....then the really big trucks including side dump are a lot more.
Cost of material was painful enough in my case,.....but the trucks..!!...we had a steady parade of them, and my bill for just the trucks was around 30 grand. [emoji44]

OUCH! And I thought $80 to bring it 5 miles was pricey. Next trips will be with Schitty, my $5 Datsun pickup truck bed turned trailer. I'd be surprised if he can even carry a ton, but it sure is nice having a quarry so close.
Dang! I forgot to take photos. This was one of those giant long trucks that rise to a scary height while dumping. But it sure made a mess in the sand where it almost got suck. Now if I could find someone nearby with a tractor or skid steer.
I appreciate your offer, Tim, but I need this spread now and I’ve never seen any deer down here.

That's a big cost these days when doing construction - putting all that money into the ground! Even on my project, I easily hit Bill's number moving dirt from the front yard to the back, putting in a foundation and that's not even touching the costs of connecting to sewer with a grinder pump. It's almost as expensive as the actual building itself!!!
I'm just so impressed to see a mutant building a campground! I mean, there is a lot of variety of mutants with capabilities galore, but actually building a campground?
