When my folks got married, their most valuable wedding gifts were gas ration stamps. It allowed them to have a honeymoon in Duluth, 100 miles away.
I still have ration coupons my Grandmother hoarded. [emoji177]

Saw where HF donated a ton of nitrite gloves and mask. I don't visit the stores as often now that I have decided I don't need more tools if I don't plan on doing anything!

Just wondering, does Anyone actually buy Anything from HF at full price?

Local authorities have issued a "Stay at Home" order for Galveston County. It is still okay to go for necessities.

My son could not find any paper towels or TP where he lives about 20 miles up the road. We were in Kroger's yesterday and they had twelve packs of each. We bought them some and we will deliver them today.

ON ANOTHER NOTE.

We have reservations at Shipshewanna South RV Park beginning on August 11th and departing on September 10th. Not cheap, but what the heck. Come on up and stay with us for awhile.

Geez Wayne! Couldn’t you find some place closer? That 2,000 miles from Dateland and 2,200 from my daughter’s place. I’ll keep it under consideration. What’s the weather supposed to be like then?

Got back from Hawaii after a much-deserved vacation. They are about a week behind the mainland as far as COVID-19 reaction goes; panic buying didn't start until last week. As we left there were protesters at the arrivals section saying, essentially, "Go home you diseased freaks!" The Hawaii governor is instituting a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all incoming people starting this Thursday. While I was kinda hoping we'd be trapped in Hawaii, I also wanted to get back to our kitty cat. Glad to be home.

Washington State is now under a "stay at home" order. Not a problem for Victoria and I; we're both introverts. But we have neighbors who are climbing the virtual walls -- apparently they can't survive without hours and hours of unmitigated, up-close chat.

Taking everything in stride, remaining practical, pragmatic, level-headed. We've been through worse, we'll get through this.

It's now gotten way to personal. Son called this morning to check on us and inform us that DIL, the ER RN had a positive COV-19 patient last night.

I believe in prayer and any inclined can join me to pray not only for DIL but all the families of all our health care workers.

Tim,
Red paint! Circle on house! People drawing (stick people okay) inside circle! Line drawn diagonally through circle. All in red paint. Should keep relatives away (NOT)!

Barb,
According to Google the averages for August in Shipshewanna are 80˚ for the high and 59˚ for the low. Last year didn't even come close to that and wasin the upper 80's and lower 90's, but everywhere was a disaster last year for temps.
