Bull had considered a second 12v battery although there is not enough room on the tongue to mount it but have considered it.
What got me thinking solar was one of the other hunters has a small unit that he charges his phone with.

Gear what type info you looking for? This thread provides information for some of the best trips ever. We have high tech people, low brow people, highly qualified know it all’s and some that, well let’s just say they’re from Texas.

We have full timers, some timers, part timers and some that aren’t sure who they are. Personally my DW and I have traveled from Gods country to the West coast up to Seattle Wa. and back across to AR. We’ve been up through Canada from Ontario and across to Prince Edward Isle and back down through Maine to AR! We’ve toured beaches along the East coast and around the gulf coast. Do you keep the stereo going to entertain the varmints and deer?

The husband of one of Sue's fiber friends is a keen drone flyer and recently bought a new one. He offered to bring it over to drone over our house and land. The end result was a DVD which Sue gave to me as one of her Christmas gifts.

Steve and Annie moved on several years ago... basically means they quit us.... most of our members are fair weather... BUT there is a core group that is still on here......

If the Frig is on automatic setting, change that to GAS. Auto runs a heating coil around the door that chews up batteries. That alone might solve your problem.

Next step would be to increase batteries, but you'll need to buy 2 new ones or the old one will drag down the new one. Sam's has 6V golf cart batteries for $90 each. Wire them together to make it 12V. I bought battery cases that hold 2 that you might be able to fit somewhere.

You can easily get a 100 watt panel to charge 2 batteries IF you get 5-6 hours of sun on them daily. That may be a big "if" during deer season. You'll also need a small charge controller to make sure the batteries don’t get over cooked. Home Depot sells a kit that’s $154.

Geez, Sue and Martin live in the middle of nowhere don't they. I thought my brother lived in the sticks out by Assumption IL but you can see at least 2 other houses from his place.


Tim could always weld up a slightly larger tray to hold 2 batteries on the camper tongue (or maybe a stacked arrangement?).
