Rest area fail !

Stopped in a I-65 rest area in KY for breakfast. We tow a car so we park in the Truck / Cars with Trailers spots.

Sign said 18 spots open. 5 of them look like this . It's time to call the white line painter back.

Remember, even spacing---12' between the lines regardless.

That would really suck if you had made the turn in there, and were flat towing !

At least your Rest Areas are open .

The Rest Areas just North of Seattle on I-5 are now closed until the first of next year , at the soonest .

The real rub is that it includes the dump stations .

The reason given for closing them is the people camping in their decrepit RV for weeks in the parking areas, vandalism of the rest rooms and garbage being dumped all over the area.

The State DOT says it doesn't have the employees or resources to maintain the Rest Areas . In addition , their employees have been assaulted and threatened while trying to do their job.

It seems the homeless situation has gone from bad to worse.

I'm shocked they have a light pole in the middle of the parking lot. What a bad idea.

. Do you know how the signs keep up with the open spaces so the display is correct?

No doubt. It's gone from worse to unimaginable. It's not even safe to go to the King County Courthouse...aka public safety building. Wouldn't surprise me to see a "rest area fee" added to the ever increasing list of Washington State vehicle registration fees to pay for irresponsible people's actions, a direct result from govt. mandated lack of enforcement.

At the front and back of each spot is a plastic hockey puck in the ground - this is a sensor for whenever a vehicle is on top of it. That updates the sign.

You reep what you sow. There are laws on the books to fix that .

You guys are all wrong. Stripes are in the correct place but the lights were moved so they didn't have to paint around them. They'll be along any day now to move them back where they belong.

That may be the case !

Another thought was that the sensors in the cement are lined up with the white lines and they can't move the lines.
The light pole guy didn't get a copy of the plans.
