I can remember a little diddy my dad use to say all the time about watches.
A man with one watch always knows what time it is.
BUT,
A man with two or more clocks is never quite sure what time it is.

I threw my wristwatch out my truck window on the way home from my retirement party!
If I really want to know the time I'll check my phone, or look at the sun. Close enough!

My grandchildren, that is the one greatest item that I have enjoyed about my retirement, also spending time with my wife every day. We get up together and have breakfast before we start are daily routine.

I'll find out tomorrow. Today is my last day of work!

Turned 60 a few days ago. DW & bought our first rv last June and have plans to head to florida next week to spend the winter, then to San Antonio in March for college basketball ball final 4, then to California for the Tour of California bicycle race in May. Should be June before we get back to our stick & brick in CT

VERY COOL!!
I'm not retired yet, but I look forward to doing exactly what you describe

I was a career landlord. I like knowing that the world will be fine if I ignore it for a while, and knowing I will never get another call that a building is on fire, that two burmese pythons are loose in a building, that the sewer line is clogged, that the manager's kid is selling crack out his bedroom window, that the city is doing a surprise code inspection, that my 300-year-old oak tree is slowly leaning more and more, etc.

I have been surprised that I actually do more since retirement. Life is good, but I am moving about 50 hours a week. Playing in three bands. Off-roading. Learning audio recording. keeping the homes and vehicles up. Working that to-do list.

Since I retired my calendar is busier than when I was working. One big difference: it is filled with things I WANT to do, not things I HAVE to do.
