RIP John Prine

One of the voices in my head has gone quiet. John Prine is dead from Covid-19. God that hurts. Thanks for the music, John.

Covoid-19 is an all-genre killer. Also passed from this virus are Ellis Marsalis, patriarch of the New Orleans jazz family that bears his name, and country singer/songwriter Joe Diffie. Yesterday we lost Hal Wilner, a name most don't recognize - he was music director and arranger for Saturday Night Live. Sadly there will be more musicians and entertainers succumb to Covid.

Yeah, this one hurts. Been dreading this since he was hospitalized last week.

I’m so sad. We’ve lost one of our great artists and one of my all time favorite singer/songwriter. His songs could make me laugh, cry and think. He will be forever missed.

Well, I'm sure he'll end up sitting on a Rainbow.

I am sad for sure, read this first thing this morning.

Been humming

"Woke up this morning
Put on my slippers
Walked in the kitchen and died
And oh what a feeling!
When my soul went through the ceiling
And on up into heaven I did ride
....."

He will be missed.

Terrible loss to the music world. However I’m not in a hurry to join John to burn one with him. In the meantime I will burn one for him while spinning my favorite album of his “Sweet Revenge” on the turntable.
