Scam Avoided

I just came across a scam that is very well done! They even sent me an email from "amazon payments" complete with a toll free number. When I called it (knowing it was a scam) the guy asked me for a transaction number (included in the email). When I gave it to him he said yes this is for a 1998 Motorhome and the price is $3,400.

In case you want to see for yourself and annoy the stuffing out of this guy, the number is 877-357-4092. Ask for Matt Frisby, Jennifer Cohen, Nancy Campbell and/or Candace Garcia. He got pretty upset with me after about a dozen calls!

Google the number to see how many victims he has. It's amazing!

My neighbor almost got hooked into one of these. He was going to buy a 01 winnabego for real cheap but asked me first... I can't remember all the motorhome details but it was for sale at 4k and everything that was the same model year etc... was starting at 15k to 19k. He called anyway and it was a Bombei, India accent wanting credit card over the phone.
This was found in a local newspaper and after some more digging we found more of these deals on craigslist and other classified listings.

I had something similar happen. $50k for a motor home that sold for $110k. The guy sent me pics and all. Only problem is the pics came from a dealership I had visited 2 weeks before and saw the coach he was posting pics of. I am in TX. he said the coach was in IN. But he listed a Houston ph number and an Austin location.

I didn't fall for it.
