Silly Good Sam "mascot" at Good Sam 500 Stock Car race
Is is just me, or are others feeling a bit disappointed/embarrassed with that silly Good Sam figure/mascot at the Good Sam 500 Stock Car race in Avondale, AZ today? I really don't see where that does anything toward making one want to join Good Sam. It certainly does not impress me.

I saw that.
But it doesn't matter..... no one or nothing will make me want to waste my money on a Good Sam membership again.

Good Sam membership is only good for the 10% discounts that some CGs will give you. Their magazine, Motorhome, is only a front for the products that they sell. Very skewed reporting on products.

Well, I am finding it harder and harder to understand why I keep updating my membership. We may join you soon.

Some years ago we bought a Charter Lifetime Membership. Only use it for the camping discounts and few items at CW that I can't easily get elsewhere.
Since it's basically "free" now we'll keep it. If I had to pay yearly I'm not sure I'd re-up at all.
As to the "goofy" GS mascot I don't care. Check out all the other mascots out there and they all pretty much look "goofy".

That Silly Good Sam "mascot" got you talking & others posting about it.
So the mascot did it's job and worked to get attention to Good Sam.
Good Sam member since Nov. 1 1978 and Charter Life Time member.
I have more then gotten my $$$ worth.

Is that any worse or better then the Michelin man, Lug Nut, Digger to name a few seen at NASCAR and other racing venues? It gets the name and some level of recognition for a product, good or bad, out to the public.
As far as liking GS/CW, that's your choice but they to are a marketing success. I date back to the original Trailer Life/Good Sam run by Art Rouse, have had my ups and downs with it, but do send in my bucks for CG and fuel discounts and am ahead of that game. CW - again, walk in to a store, chances are that there will be something in your basket. Buying an RV there - again, might be good or otherwise, depending on the facility.
