Snow!?

Snowing a little on I-80 between Salt Lake UT and Evanston WY

I hope it doesn't do that when I leave for Denver on Saturday morning. First long drive for me, don't need any wind or snow to break me in...at least not yet.

Advice?

Snow isn't that unusual at almost any time of year at higher elevations. Cheyenne and Denver weather shows 72º - 90º over the next 5 days, mid 50's at night. I don't think you'll be shoveling anything along your route.

Several years ago DW and I were in Great Falls, MT, visiting the grand children, with the intent of visiting Glacier NP. Woke up on the appointed day and opened the curtains to find 6 inches of nice new snow on the ground in Great Falls. There was a whole more in the park! This was on June 12. Never did make it to Glacier. Someday I will see it but it will be July or August before I try again.
Good luck and safe travels!

You shouldn't have any problem, snow on the mountain passes this time of year is rarely more than a dusting, makes for a good picture though. Don't worry, keep calm and pull over if you aren't comfortable, the weather will likely change for the better in 15 minutes anyway. January is a whole 'nuther question...

6/17 - between 40 and 20 miles east of Elkhorn, Nev. we ran through hard snow (not sticking to the road) and then hail - lots of hail, then rain. Rig and truck really dirty now. Real pucker factor.

Still a fair amount of snow in the higher elevations....we didn't face any par imitation, but the winds about knocked off the road.
