Sure once a year you could pack and head for the islands or a sea cruise.

But why do you like to go RV'ing?

Some I know have good reasons worth sharing or own a getaway, RV lot, Park. Some I know just want a way to escape the weather changes. Going South your called a Snow Bird and Going North your called a Song Bird. What do you know as an RV'er about Boondocking? On the road, places to stop for the night? What Books for the roads ahead "NEXT EXIT" Randle Mcnally MAPS, "Drives and Dives" What books did you read that brought you on the road trip? like Nevada Barr, Author. Maybe it's all about cost?

What is it about RV'ing that you came to this forum?

A way to get places without airports and hotels. My DW says it is sleeping in our own dirt, with our own bedbugs. We never boondock; not set up for it (2 6v batteries and no solar).

Why?

So that we can have all the comforts of home for a short time while way out there in nature.

I'd love to park my RV in some of the spots where I backpack camped!

Ours is like a second home. Every second weekend we go away for 3-4 nights and then for 8-10 nights a couple of times a year.

Touring the country while looking for a possible place to settle down.
So far we are enjoying the journey so much that the thought of planting roots again doesn't appeal to us yet

Cheaper then a hotel and I don't have to share my bed, towels, toilet, shower with stranges.

Don't have to rent a vehicle or rely on taxi when we get to destinations

Can cook my own meals....on stove, in oven or BBQ

Memories.........past, present and future

As my DW says, "to look at other peoples trees for a while".
And to get away from all those pesky house chores...
All the comforts of home on wheels, wherever you decide to land.

It's funny because we alternate two weeks at home and two weeks in the bus at a local COE. We do it for exactly that reason. Different view out the window. I still work full time so I just drive to work from the campground.

….its a life-style....but not for everyone....part-time with a S/B home is one way, full-time is another and they are drastically different--IMHO. If you are a naturally curious person--what is around the next corner is exciting. If not that curious, being at home with friends and family is great.....

Hi! We bought our rig 3 years ago as a way to see the country. I quickly learned that having our own private bathroom, bedroom etc. was super convenient. No more searching the road signs for the next rest area while trying to avoid an exploding bladder!

Also, I have issues with flying due to not being able to pee on planes. Covid-19 has changed things. We don't want to stop at restaurants, sleep in hotels (how do you know the hotel room is disinfected?), or stop at rest areas. Flying, due to Covid is yet another wrinkle. So having our RV is even more important now.

I travel a lot for work. Airports, rental cars, restaurants and almost 200 nights a year in hotels some years gets old real fast. When I have time off, the last thing I want to do is stay in another hotel where they frown upon a nightly campfire!

Same deal here, been traveling North America for work for too long. That is one of the reasons we went full time. Don't always get to take the coach to my destination but when I can, it's fantastic. I also get my fuel and campground fees paid for so very fortunate to be in this postion.

Why do we RV? So we can have our "vacation home" at any location in the great USA and not be locked into a cabin or beach house "vacation home" in the same spot year after year after year.
