Need a lot more information. Dc/AC, hours of use, type of storage you are going to use, amps/watts of pump, etc. Not a simple question/answer.

Thanks for reply. It's going to be a 3 hp pump to pump a 6" main out of a farm feild . Mostly use spring and fall but would be on all year.i think battery storage. Like to use pannals to recharge. I talk to a elec and he said what hurts the pump is start up I would go through pumps because of what it takes to start up. 3" discharge and has to pump up 15' than out. Is was just trying to figure out before I ask elec company to run line.i was told it takes 746 watts per 1 hp. And I was wondering if a solar company would like to use it for a demo. Lot of field pumps around here
Thanks

How much flow and total volume do you need, if this is for irrigation you will probably need quite a bit. Need to also take into account total head loss for pipe size and length including fittings.

You will need to figure out the total amperage draw from the pump to determine how much solar and battery capacity you'll need. My guess you are looking for quiet of bit of volume.

Solar panels are not that efficient unless exposed to total sunlight, as the sun moves across the horizon the efficiency goes down. My 335 watt of solar should produce ~23 amps of charging but I rarely see 15 amps on the sunniest of days.

I'm sure it is possible to do what you want but it will cost $$ to install solar and battery capacity to supply power for any type of larger installation.
