Henri Theodore Young
Henri Theodore Young (born June 20, 1911 – disappeared 1972) was an American convicted bank robber and murderer
Young was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 20, 1911.[3] Beginning a life of crime, he became a bank robber and was known for aggressively taking hostages.
In 1933, Young was convicted of murder in Washington state. After serving time in prisons in Washington and Montana for other crimes, he was sent to the federal prison on Alcatraz Island. On the night of January 13, 1939, Young, with prisoners Rufus McCain, Arthur Barker, Dale Stamphill and William Martin, attempted to escape. Martin, Young and McCain surrendered, while Barker and Stamphill refused to surrender and were subsequently shot. Barker eventually died from his injuries.
At his trial for McCain's murder in 1942, Young and his attorney argued that the harsh system at Alcatraz had brutalized and dehumanized him. According to the San Francisco Examiner,
"Emphasis which [the defense] repeatedly laid on the fact that Young was in isolation or solitary confinement for more than three years—and that he drove his knife into McCain's abdomen just eleven days after release from such confinement, made it clear that the defense hopes to show not only that Young was 'punch drunk' but that the punches were administered by the Alcatraz 'system'."
Describing conditions in solitary confinement, Young said:
Its size was approximately that of a regular cell—9 feet by 5 feet by about 7 feet high. I could just touch the ceiling by stretching out my arm ... You are stripped nude and pushed into the cell. Guards take your clothes and go over them minutely for what few grains of tobacco may have fallen into the cuffs or pockets. There is no soap. No tobacco. No toothbrush. The smell—well you can describe it only by the word 'stink.' It is like stepping into a sewer. It is nauseating. After they have searched your clothing, they throw it at you. For bedding, you get two blankets, around 5 in the evening. You have no shoes, no bed, no mattress—nothing but the four damp walls and two blankets. The walls are painted black. Once a day I got three slices of bread—no—that is an error. Some days I got four slices. I got one meal in five days, and nothing but bread in between. In the entire thirteen days I was there, I got two meals ... I have seen but one man get a bath in solitary confinement, in all the time that I have been there. That man had a bucket of cold water thrown over him.
Young testifying as to his experiences in "The Hole" at Alcatraz during his 1941 trial.
In 1954, Young was transferred to the Washington State Penitentiary at Walla Walla to begin a life sentence for the 1933 murder conviction. He was released from Washington State Penitentiary in 1972, at age 61. He "jumped parole and, according to Washington State authorities, his whereabouts are unknown." No further records exist on Young.

Born in 1937 Goude was the winner of the Miss Sweden beauty contest in 1956. She went on to be the 2nd runner up in the Miss Universe pageant that same year. As a result, she was offered a movie contract with Universal Studios, and she moved to Hollywood. She had roles in several movies and tv shows during her career, including Flight, Steve Canyon, Johnny Staccato, and The Bob Cummings Show. Her movie credits include The Big Beat, Once Upon A Horse, and Night Passage. In 1959 she was cast with James Best and Ken Curtis for the sci-fi cult classic The Killer Shrews. Dialog in the film pokes fun at her Swedish accent when her onscreen father has an American accent. She was at one time married to the president of Ohrbach's department stores. She is currently 87 years old, and lives in Santa Barbara, CA.

Dietric H Eckar T (playwright, journalist)
One of the founders of the German Workers' Party, the precursor of the Nazi Party. Eckart was a key influence on Adolf Hitler in the early years of the Party, the original publisher of the party newspaper, the Völkischer Beobachter ("Folkist Observer"), and the lyricist of the first party anthem, "Sturmlied" ("Storming Song"). He was a participant in the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 and died on 26 December of that year, shortly after his release from Landsberg Prison, of a heart attack.
Eckart was elevated to the status of a major thinker upon the establishment of Nazi Germany in 1933. He was acknowledged by Hitler to be the spiritual co-founder of Nazism and "a guiding light of the early National Socialist movement."

1896 - 1980 Truman was the owner and caretaker of the Mount Saint Helens Lodge on Spirit Lake at the base of the Mount St. Helens volcano. He came to fame by refusing to leave his home despite evacuation orders. He was killed by a pyroclastic flow when the volcano erupted on May 18, 1980. He was portrayed by Art Carney in the docudrama movie St. Helens. Truman and his 16 cats all perished in the eruption, and likely died of heat shock in less than a second, too quickly to register pain.

Nina Yefimova
Nina Yefimova (c. 1971 — May 9, 1996, Russia, Chechnya, Grozny) was a reporter for Vozrozhdeniye ("Revival"), a local Russian language newspaper in the Chechen capital Grozny. She was the 18th journalist to be killed in Chechnya since fighting escalated in December 1994.
On May 9, 1996, Nina Yefimova, 25-year-old, was found dead from a shot to the back of the head. Her 73-year-old mother was also killed, after they were both abducted from their apartment on the outskirts of Grozny. Yefimova's body was found the following morning in Grozny's Leninsky District, while her mother's was found that evening in a deserted canned food factory in Grozny.
Journalists in Grozny and Moscow believe that her murder was related to stories she had published on crime in Chechnya. A local law enforcement official who declined to give reporters his name claimed that the murder was committed "for private reasons." Yefimova's newspaper described as "relatively independent" by the Glasnost Defence Foundation, a Moscow media watchdog group. At this time, all media in Chechnya were controlled by the Moscow-installed government of Doku Zavgayev.

Wife and closest advisor of John Adams, the second president of the United States, and the mother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States. She was a founder of the United States and was both the first second lady and second first lady of the United States, although such titles were not used at the time. She and Barbara Bush are the only two women in American history who were both married to a U.S. president and the mother of a U.S. president.
Adams's life is one of the most documented of the first ladies; many of the letters she wrote to her husband John Adams while he was in Philadelphia as a delegate in the Continental Congress prior and during the American Revolution document the closeness and versatility of their relationship. John Adams frequently sought the advice of Abigail on many matters, and their letters are filled with intellectual discussions on government and politics. Her letters also serve as eyewitness accounts of the American Revolutionary War home front.

1829 - 1902 Strauss was born in Germany and immigrated to the US in 1847 at age 18. He joined his brothers in running a dry goods store in New York. In 1853 he became an American citizen. His family opened a west coast dry goods store in San Francisco in 1854, and Levi was chosen to run it. He called the new venture Levi Strauss & Co. He sold dry goods, tents and jeans to customers who had come west for the gold rush. One of his customers, a taylor named Jacob Davis, had invented a way to strengthen work pants by using rivets. Strauss and Davis went into business together to mass produce the jeans with rivets. Strauss never married, and died at age 73. His estate went to the daughter of his nephew, and her descendants still own the company.

Issei Sagawa
Issei Sagawa (26 April 1949 – 24 November 2022) also known as Pang or the Kobe Cannibal, was a Japanese lust murderer, cannibal, and necrophiliac known for the killing of Renée Hartevelt in Paris in 1981.
On 11 June 1981, Sagawa, then 32, invited his Sorbonne classmate Renée Hartevelt, a Dutch woman, to dinner at his apartment at 10 Rue Erlanger, under the pretext of translating poetry for a school assignment. Sagawa planned to kill and eat her, having selected her for her health and beauty, characteristics he felt he lacked. Sagawa considered himself weak, ugly, and small (he was 145 cm [4 ft 9 in] tall) and claimed he wanted to absorb her energy. She was 25 years old and 178 cm (5 ft 10 in) After Hartevelt arrived, she began reading poetry at a desk with her back to Sagawa when he shot her in the neck with a rifle. Sagawa said he fainted after the shock of shooting her but awoke with the realization that he had to carry out his plan. Sagawa raped her corpse, but he could not bite into her skin because his teeth were not sharp enough, so he left the apartment and purchased a butcher knife. Sagawa consumed various parts of Hartevelt's body, eating most of her breasts, face, buttocks, feet, thighs, and neck, either raw or cooked (even admitting that he swallowed her clitoris whole, due to her being on her period at the time, and him not liking the smell of menstrual blood), while saving other parts in his refrigerator. Sagawa also took photographs of Hartevelt's body at each eating stage. Once the remains of her body that he did not consume started decomposing, Sagawa attempted to dump the remains of Hartevelt's corpse in a lake in the Bois de Boulogne park, carrying her dismembered body parts in two suitcases, but was caught in the act and arrested by French police four days later.
Sagawa's wealthy father provided a lawyer for his defence. After being held for two years awaiting trial, Sagawa was found legally insane and unfit to stand trial by the French judge, Jean-Louis Bruguière, who ordered him held indefinitely in a mental institution. After a visit by the author Inuhiko Yomota, Sagawa's account of the murder and its aftermath was published in Japan under the title In the Fog. Sagawa's subsequent publicity and macabre celebrity likely contributed to the French authorities' decision to deport him to Japan, where he was immediately committed to Matsuzawa Hospital in Tokyo. His examining psychologists all declared him sane and found sexual perversion was his sole motivation for murder. As the charges against Sagawa in France had been dropped, the French court documents were sealed and were not released to Japanese authorities; consequently, Sagawa could not legally be detained in Japan. Sagawa checked himself out of the hospital on 12 August 1986 and subsequently remained free until his death. Sagawa's continued freedom was widely criticized.

He is a multi-instrumentalist who also plays harmonica, keyboards, bass guitar, bouzouki, balalaika, saxophone and a variety of whistles.
In May 2020, Anderson said he was suffering from the incurable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) after being diagnosed a number of years previously. He went on to state his belief that a likely cause of this condition has been the use of on-stage smoke machines in live performances throughout his long career. Anderson continued medication to treat the condition, avoided areas of high pollution to prevent exacerbation of the disease, and practiced breathing exercises to keep his lungs fit, stating that COPD had otherwise not yet affected his day-to-day routine.

1933 - 2018 Newton invented the Newton Starting Blocks, which are used at the starting line of track and field events. The devices are used by sprinters to hold their feet so they don't lose traction at the starting gun. Although he had no experience in track and field, he came up with the design to help his daughter who was competing in foot races. In 2004 he was elected to the National Track and Field Hall of Fame.
