Erich Naumann was an SS-Brigadeführer. After capture by the Allies, Naumann stood trial in front of a U.S. military court during the Einsatzgruppen trial. During the proceedings he repeatedly stated that he did not consider his actions during his tenure as commanding officer of Einsatzgruppe B wrong. When asked on the witness stand whether he saw anything morally wrong about the Führer's orders, he replied specifically that he:
"No, your Honor, I considered the decree to be right, because it was part of our aim of the war and therefore it was necessary."
The tribunal asked Naumann to clarify, "Then the Tribunal will accept from your answer that you saw nothing wrong with the order, even though it did involve the killing of defenseless human beings. That is what we draw from your answer." Naumann replied, "Yes, your Honor."[4] Naumann was found guilty of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and membership in a criminal organization, namely the SS and the SD. Naumann was sentenced to death and hanged shortly after midnight on 7 June 1951.

ThomaS NelsoN Jr.
Thomas Nelson Jr. (December 26, 1738 – January 4, 1789) was a Founding Father of the United States, general in the Revolutionary War, member of the Continental Congress, and a Virginia planter. In addition to serving many terms in the Virginia General Assembly, he twice represented Virginia in the Congress, where he signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Fellow Virginia legislators elected him to serve as the commonwealth's governor in 1781, the same year he fought as a brigadier general in the siege of Yorktown, the final battle of the war.

The studio had big plans for her, hoping to groom her as a replacement for the studio's leading—and increasingly uncontrollable—female star Marilyn Monroe. Fox tested North for leading roles in two of their upcoming productions, The Girl in Pink Tights and There's No Business Like Show Business—two films that had been offered to Monroe—while North was wearing Monroe's own studio wardrobe. After her screen tests, though, North was not cast in either film. In March 1954, North had a brush with scandal when she was revealed to have once danced in a bikini in an 8 mm erotic film. Fox capitalized on the publicity, as the studio previously had with Monroe's nude calendar posing in 1952.

EliaS HowE (inventor)
1819 - 1867 Howe is known for inventing the modern lock stitch sewing machine. He apprenticed in textile mill in Lowell, MA beginning in 1835. When the mill closed in 1837 he moved to Cambridge and worked as a mechanic on carding machines. In 1838 he apprenticed with a master mechanic who worked on chronometers and other precision machinery. During his apprenticeship, he seized on the idea of the sewing machine. Others had come up with sewing machines before him, but he invented a machine that used a lockstitch design. He had a dream where he was building a sewing machine for a savage king in a far away country, and failure would result in death. In his dream, the guards imprisoning him had spears that were pierced near the head. He woke at 4 am, and realized the key to making his sewing machine was to put the eye of the needle near the point, rather than the heel of the needle. He had a prototype needle by 9 am that morning. Other entrepreneurs were also making sewing machines, including Isaac Singer who was using his patented lockstitch method. He went to court and won, and thereafter earned considerable royalties from the Singer sewing machine company. He also invented the zipper, but did not pursue marketing it. He died at age 48 of gout and a massive blood clot. At his death, he was a multimillionaire.

Steve Ells (born September 12, 1965) is an American businessman. He is the founder, former chief executive officer, and former executive chairman of Chipotle Mexican Grill. Ells founded Chipotle in 1993,[1] and under his direction, the chain serves what it describes as "naturally raised meat" and promotes sustainable agriculture.
Ells has received criticism over his salary. In 2013, The New York Times reported he was paid $25.1 million, more than equivalent executives in companies like Ford, Boeing, and AT&T. By the early 2010s, Ells and his co-CEO, Montgomery Moran, were paid more than $300 million. In May 2014 shareholders rejected a plan to further increase the executives' wages
On November 29, 2017, Chipotle announced Ells' resignation as CEO, pending the search for a new CEO with "turnaround expertise". Ells served as executive chairman following the appointment of a new CEO, and served on the CEO search committee. Brian Niccol became CEO of Chipotle Mexican Grill in February 2018. On March 6, 2020, Ells resigned as chairman and left the board of directors, breaking his final ties to the company.

Arthu R Schopenhaue R (philosopher)
Schopenhauer was among the first thinkers in Western philosophy to share and affirm significant tenets of Indian philosophy, such as asceticism, denial of the self, and the notion of the world-as-appearance. His work has been described as an exemplary manifestation of philosophical pessimism. Though his work failed to garner substantial attention during his lifetime, he had a posthumous impact across various disciplines, including philosophy, literature, and science. His writing on aesthetics, morality, and psychology have influenced many thinkers and artists.

My wife absolutely refuses to watch almost any British TV show. I think she has trouble understanding their dialog, and doesn't want to "read" movies or tv shows.

Born 1979 Riggs is an author of young adult novels, the most famous of which is Miss Perigrime's Home For Peculiar Children. That novel was made into a movie directed by Tim Burton. He has written a series of novels that follow in that universe, along with a couple of other unrelated teen novels. He also wrote the Sherlock Holmes Handbook, which was released as a tie in to the 2009 Sherlock Holmes film.

MarthA Helen StewarT
Martha Helen Stewart (born August 3, 1941) is an American retail businesswoman, writer, and television personality. As the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, focusing on home and hospitality, she gained success through a variety of business ventures, encompassing publishing, broadcasting, merchandising and e-commerce. She has written numerous bestselling books, was the publisher of Martha Stewart Living magazine and hosted two syndicated television programs: Martha Stewart Living, which ran from 1993 to 2004, and The Martha Stewart Show, which ran from 2005 to 2012.
In 2004, Stewart was convicted of felony charges related to the ImClone stock trading case; she served five months in federal prison for fraud and was released in March 2005. There was speculation that the incident would effectively end her media empire, but in 2005 Stewart began a comeback campaign, and her company returned to profitability in 2006. Stewart rejoined the board of directors of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in 2011 and became chairwoman of her namesake company again in 2012. The company was acquired by Sequential Brands in 2015. Sequential Brands Group agreed in April 2019 to sell Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, including the Emeril brand, to Marquee Brands for $175 million with benchmarked additional payments.
In 2023, at the age of 81, Stewart became the oldest woman to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue magazine. In 2024, she was the subject of a Netflix documentary titled Martha directed by R.J. Cutler.
We have watched all episodes of Slow Horses on Apple. We feel the show has gotten better with each new season. We keep closed captioning on all the time.

Akir A Toriyam A (Manga Artist)
Japanese manga artist and character designer. He came to be regarded as one of the most important authors in the history of manga, authoring highly influential and popular series, particularly Dragon Ball. Before going on to create Dragon Ball, Toriyama acted as a character designer for several video games such as the Dragon Quest series and Blue Dragon.
He was a well-known recluse, who avoided appearing in public or media. In an extension to his shyness, Toriyama had used an avatar called "Robotoriyama" since 1980 to represent himself in manga and interviews. On March 1, 2024, Toriyama died of an acute subdural hematoma, at the age of 68.

We recently watched the Territory series. Thought it was pretty good. It was strange to hear Robert Taylor speaking in his native Australian accent after watching the Longmire series. Speaking of which, I saw a news blurb that the producers are thinking of reviving the Longmire series again.
AloiS Alzheimer (psychiatrist, neuropathologist)
1864 - 1915 Alzheimer is credited with identifying the first published case of presenile dementia. The disease is named after him. In 1912 he was appointed professor of psychiatry at the University of Breslau in Germany. He was on his way there when he fell ill with a streptococcal infection. That led to rheumatic fever, and then valvular heart disease. He died of heart failure at age 51.
