As a director and producer, he is most closely associated with the horror genre, namely splatter films, having directed the films Cabin Fever (2002) and Hostel (2005). Many journalists have included him in a group of filmmakers dubbed the Splat Pack for their explicitly violent and controversially bloody horror films. In 2013, Roth received the Visionary Award for his contributions to horror at the Stanley Film Festival.

After the war he suffered from PTSD and descended into alcoholism. After a night of heavy drinking in January 1955, he died from exposure and alcohol poisoning. He was commemorated in art and film, both before and after his death. He portrayed himself in the John Wayne film The Sands of Iwo Jima. Tony Curtis played him in the story of his life, The Outsider. Johnny Cash recorded a song about him, The Ballad of Ira Hayes, in 1964. He was portrayed by Adam Beach in the Clint Eastwood movie Flags of Our Fathers.

SpirO AgneW

Spiro Agnew Spiro Theodore Agnew (November 9, 1918 – September 17, 1996) was the 39th vice president of the United States, serving from 1969 until his resignation in 1973. He is the second of two vice presidents to resign the position, the first being John C. Calhoun in 1832.

Agnew was born in Baltimore to a Greek immigrant father and an American mother. He attended Johns Hopkins University and graduated from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law. He was a campaign aide for U.S. Representative James Devereux in the 1950s, and was appointed to the Baltimore County Board of Zoning Appeals in 1957. In 1962, he was elected Baltimore county executive. In 1966, Agnew was elected governor of Maryland, defeating his Democratic opponent George P. Mahoney and independent candidate Hyman A. Pressman.

At the 1968 Republican National Convention, Richard Nixon asked Agnew to place his name in nomination, and named him as running mate. Agnew's centrist reputation interested Nixon; the law and order stance he had taken in the wake of civil unrest that year appealed to aides such as Pat Buchanan. Agnew made a number of gaffes during the campaign, but his rhetoric pleased many Republicans, and he may have made the difference in several key states. Nixon and Agnew defeated the Democratic ticket of incumbent vice president Hubert Humphrey and his running mate, Senator Edmund Muskie, and American Independent Party candidates George Wallace and Curtis LeMay. As vice president, Agnew was often called upon to attack the administration's enemies. In the years of his vice presidency, Agnew moved to the right, appealing to conservatives who were suspicious of moderate stances taken by Nixon. In the presidential election of 1972, Nixon and Agnew were re-elected for a second term, defeating Senator George McGovern and his running mate Sargent Shriver in one of the largest landslides in American history.

In 1973, Agnew was investigated by the United States Attorney for the District of Maryland on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, bribery, extortion, and tax fraud. Agnew took kickbacks from contractors during his time as Baltimore county executive and governor of Maryland. The payments had continued into his time as vice president, but had nothing to do with the Watergate scandal, in which he was not implicated. After months of maintaining his innocence, Agnew pleaded no contest to a single felony charge of tax evasion and resigned from office. Nixon replaced him with House Republican leader Gerald Ford. Agnew spent the remainder of his life quietly, rarely making public appearances and blaming Zionists for forcing him out of office. He wrote a novel and a memoir, both of which defended his actions. Agnew died at home in 1996 at age 77 of undiagnosed acute leukemia.

Williams is the founder and last surviving original member of the Motown vocal group The Temptations, a group in which he continues to perform; he also owns the rights to the Temptations name.

Williams was born Otis Miles Jr. in Texarkana, Texas, to Otis Miles and Hazel Louise Williams. The couple separated shortly after their son's birth. While he was still a toddler, his mother married and moved to Detroit, Michigan, leaving the young Otis to be raised by both of his grandmothers in Texarkana. Hazel Williams moved her son to Detroit when he was ten years old, where he lived with her and his stepfather.

The Temptations became one of the most successful acts in soul music over the course of nearly five decades, during which singers such as David Ruffin, Dennis Edwards, former Distant Richard Street, Damon Harris, Ron Tyson, Ali-Ollie Woodson, Theo Peoples, Ray Davis and former Spinners singer G. C. Cameron have all been members. As a member of the Temptations, he sings both Tenor and Baritone vocals.

The Temptations biggest selling tracks include: My Girl, and (I Know) I'm Losing You, among many others. The groups have won four Grammy Awards, and have been nominated for nine.

Side note: I've probably said this before, but I'll say it again: Deep down inside of me lies a Pip. Gladys, you hearing me girl? Let's all get together, make rap go away once and for all and get back to music that stirred our collective souls.

1940 - 1962 Sutcliffe was the original bassist for the Beatles. He and John Lennon came up with the name, fashioning it after Buddy Holly's Crickets. At the time he was performing with the band, they were a 5 piece group. Before they became famous, Sutcliffe acted as booking agent for the group. He also enjoyed painting, and attended the Liverpool College of Art. In 1961 he decided to leave the band to spend more time doing his artwork. He went to Germany to study art, and while there began experiencing severe headaches. After collapsing in class, his mother took him to see doctors, and they found nothing wrong. He continued to get worse, and collapsed again in April 1962. He died on the way to the hospital from a cerebral hemorrhage at age 21.

ThomaS Stearns ElioT (T. S. Eliot)

Thomas Stearns Eliot (26 September 1888 – 4 January 1965) was a poet, essayist and playwright. He was a leading figure in English-language Modernist poetry where he reinvigorated the art through the use of language, writing style, and verse structure. He is also noted for his critical essays, which often re-evaluated long-held cultural beliefs.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, to a prominent Boston Brahmin family, he moved to England in 1914 at the age of 25 and went on to settle, work, and marry there. He became a British subject in 1927 at the age of 39 and renounced his American citizenship.

Eliot first attracted widespread attention for his poem "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" from 1914 to 1915, which, at the time of its publication, was considered outlandish. It was followed by The Waste Land (1922), "The Hollow Men" (1925), "Ash Wednesday" (1930), and Four Quartets (1943). He wrote seven plays, notably Murder in the Cathedral (1935) and The Cocktail Party (1949). He was awarded the 1948 Nobel Prize in Literature, "for his outstanding, pioneer contribution to present-day poetry".

YusuF EsteS

Yusuf Estes is an American Islamic preacher and chaplain from Texas. Estes converted from Christianity to Islam in 1991. He served as a Muslim chaplain for the United States Bureau of Prisons during the 1990s, and as a delegate to the United Nations World Peace Conference for Religious Leaders held at the UN in September 2000.

Estes has served as a guest presenter and a keynote speaker at various Islamic events. Estes was named as the Islamic Personality of the Year at the Dubai International Holy Quran Award ceremony on 8 August 2012.

Estes is the founder and president of Guide US TV, a free-to-air Internet and satellite TV channel, which broadcasts programs about Islam. In 2010 Estes was list as one of the top 500 most influential Muslims.

In November 2017, Estes was denied entry into Singapore for having expressed views which were deemed by the Ministry of Home Affairs as "unacceptable" and "contrary" to the values of Singapore's multiracial and multi-religious society for advising Muslims against celebrating Christmas and Hannukah, which goes against the Islamic faith. This was the basis used for the prevention of entry alleging his "divisive views breed intolerance and exclusivist practices that will damage social harmony, and cause communities to drift apart," according to the Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs. This resulted in criticism as Estes planned to enter Singapore as a tourist and not as a speaker and that people could make such judgements for themselves.

FeliX SillA (actor)

1937 - 2021 Silla was a dwarf who was most famous for his portrayal of Cousin Itt on the Addams Family tv show in the 60's. He was born in Italy, and came to the US at age 18 to work in the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. He was a bareback rider, trapeze artist, and tumbler. His talents brought him to Hollywood, where he became a stunt man. Because of his small stature, he often doubled for children in several movies. Although Cousin Itt appeared in only one Addams comic, his character was so popular he became a regular on the show. Among his other roles, he played Twiki in the Buck Rogers tv show, and the miniature Hitler who menaced George Segal in The Black Bird, as well as one of the Ewoks in Star Wars Return Of The Jedi. He also played with his musical group The Original Harmonica Band in Las Vegas and Reno. He died from pancreatic cancer at age 84.

RoberT Lee YateS

Robert Lee Yates (born May 27, 1952), also known as the Grocery Bag Killer, is an American serial killer from Spokane, Washington. From 1975 to 1998, he is known to have murdered at least 11 women in Spokane. He also confessed to two murders committed in Walla Walla in 1975 and a 1988 murder committed in Skagit County.

Yates committed his first murders in 1975, when he shot and killed two college students who were on a picnic together. Many of his subsequent victims were sex workers working along East Sprague Avenue who had substance abuse issues, and Yates would often do drugs with them and other sex workers. Yates initially solicited the victims; after having sex with them, often in his Ford van, he would kill them and dump their bodies in rural locations. All of his victims died of gunshot wounds to the head or heart. Eight of the murders were committed with a Raven .25-caliber handgun, and one attempted murder was linked to the same model of handgun.

On September 19, 1998, Yates was asked to give a DNA sample to Spokane police after being stopped. He refused, stating that it was too extreme of a request for a "family man".

In 2002, Yates was convicted of killing two women in Pierce County and sentenced to death, but it was commuted to life without parole after the Washington Supreme Court ruled capital punishment unconstitutional in 2018. He is currently serving life in prison at the Washington State Penitentiary.

TupaC ShakuR (Rapper)

Born Lesane Parish Crooks; June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), also known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor. Tupac was born in New York City to parents who were both political activists and Black Panther Party members.

During the later part of his career, Shakur was shot five times in the lobby of a New York recording studio and experienced legal troubles, including incarceration. He served eight months in prison on sexual abuse charges but was released pending an appeal of his conviction in 1995. Following his release, he signed to Marion "Suge" Knight's label Death Row Records and became heavily involved in the growing East Coast–West Coast hip-hop rivalry. On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times by an unidentified assailant in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas; he died six days later. Following his murder, the Notorious B.I.G. was at first considered a suspect due to their public feud; he was also murdered in another drive-by shooting six months later in March 1997, while visiting Los Angeles.

Charles RusselL (artist)

1864 - 1926 Charles Marion Russell was an artist of the old west. He created more than 2000 paintings of cowboys, indians, and landscapes of the American west, in addition to bronze sculptures. Russell worked as a cowboy for several outfits during the 1800's in Montana. One of his ranch foremen sent a postcard sized watercolor by Russell to the ranch owner, who displayed it in a shop window in Helena. After this, Russell began to receive commissions for artwork. In 1888 he went to live with the Blackfeet Indians, and while there gained detailed knowledge of their culture, which helped him detail his paintings. He died of congestive heart failure at age 62.
