Amazing folks. We had several of them and their families at our annual fly in at Marysville Ca airport. They would bring tables with newspaper clips, books they had for sale, and mostly huge smiles and appreciation for their long overdue credit.

Their wives were so much fun to talk to. The stories warmed our hearts and broke them at the same time.

I miss them very much.

Met several in the 1980s. Also have met several women who were pilots in WWII. Met several women who served in the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Too many fact were not published because of the times. We need to remember it accurately or it will be repeated.

One of them, Col. Alva Temple, lived here in Columbus and was our customer for many years. I never knew he was a Tuskegee Airman until after he died!

Met and talked with the son of one of then a few years ago. He was one of the nicest people I ever alked to. Being a VIET NAM Vetern May have helped the conversation along but after that I started an interest in those fine flying men Ihave read a lot and watched a few
documentaries covering their training and their fantastic abilities in flight.

The CAF traveling exhibit is well worth seeing! They are probably limiting their travels now because of the Covid 19 but if it's ever near you don't miss it!

Below is the profile of Lt. Col. Alva Templeton who lived here in Columbus until his death in 2004. He was one of three Tuskegee Airmen to participate in the first USAF Top Gun competition in 1949. His team won the propeller-driven category!

We stopped at the Tuskegee Airfield on our way home from a western RV trip. Visited the museum which was amazing.
