I used to love Mallo Cups but have not seen them for many years.

Milkyway is my all time favorite though.

"Originally, it had three pieces in one package, flavored chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, hence the name. Rising costs and wartime restrictions on sugar saw the phasing out of the vanilla and strawberry pieces to leave only the more popular chocolate"

I have no memory of the candy bar in three flavors. Apparently they were chocolate until 1945 and then the center was added.
No mention of anything but chocolate until 2007. see the list below

Flavor List

3 Musketeers Mint

  • Original 3 bar-Chocolate, 1932–1945
  • Chocolate with filling, 1945–present
  • Mint, 2007–present
  • "Autumn Minis" - Cappuccino, French Vanilla and Strawberry, 2007
  • Cherry, 2008
  • Raspberry, 2008
  • Orange, 2008
  • Chocolate Strawberry Brownie, 2008
  • Chocolate Brownie Bar (Generation Max series)
  • S'Mores Brownie Bar (Generation Max series)
  • Truffle Crisp
  • Marshmallow, limited edition Minis, Easter 2011 and 2012
  • Coconut, 2011

I'vealways liked 3-Musketeers. But also liked Chicken Legs (candy). Don't know if you remember those.

According to the 3musketeers.com website, it was originally introduced with 3 flavors, so sgtjoe's memory is correct.

How did the 3 MUSKETEERS® Bar get its name?
The 3 MUSKETEERS® Bar takes its name from the original design of the product, which was three pieces and three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.
That must've been a big candybar back then.

This is bad! This is very bad. I remember all those candies - that is bad.

However, I only go back to the 1945+ time frame when the 3 Musketeers candy bar was a marshmallow, slightly chocolate filling. The outside was covered with chocolate and there was a small indentation line separating 3 equal pieces. It could be easily broken and shared - NOT.

As much as I love 3 musketeers I refuse to eat a candy bar that's been sitting on the shelf since 1932!

Five cents? Yeah I remember that but share in 3 pieces? I wouldn't share it with anyone. Still don't share but then again don't eat as many anymore. They are a great candy bar.
