The tiny house people no doubt think they're part of a community given the current wide definition of the word in which any group of people with a common interest are part of a "community".

In any event many would agree that a travel trailer or other RV (or a park model) can do the job intended of a tiny house as well as a tiny house does, even though it wouldn't do it as cutely.

Part of the appeal of the tiny house is social; it's distinction from an RV avoids the low rent stigma attached to RVs. The person living in the tiny house can feel trendy and upscale rather than down and out. Of course a person of strong character wouldn't care about that but there you go.

In other words, they are fancy sheds that are towed into place, usually with minimal (if any) bath, shower, or kitchen systems, so you have to mooch off whomever is letting you put the thing on thier property.

There may be ordnances a against having an RV sitting on your property, but nothing about a (fancy) shed..........

Just a guess, but thinking the "tiny house" may be able to be installed on a lot where an RV may not be due to zoning laws.

Kinda like where a "Park Model" is OK, but a "Mobile Home" is not..... Just another tap dance/loop hole being taken advantage of.

The ones I've seen online and on TV were built to a fairly high standard, certainly better than sheds. Or many (most?) RVs.
