UNLCKED Cell Phone as Hotspot

Does anyone out there use an unlocked cell phone with an At&T or T-mobile (in USA) sim card as an internet hotspot to bring internet to a laptop at an rv park that has marginal or weak wifi service????
Have been told this works quite well...but that could be sales talk!!!!

Thanks

If you are using an Andriod try FoxFI. No need to unlock it and it works great for a local hotspot. We even have our printer attached and can print from laptop to our cannon printer.

Easy to set up

Sure, you can use an Unlocked phone. And, you wont need a 2 year contract if you do use one.. You will, however, have to pay for the SIM, an activation fee, the Data plan and a 'HotSpot' fee.. Unless, like noted above, you use something like FoxFI, but that will eat through your normal phone's Data limit in a real hurry..

I am on an unlimited data plan. Forgot that others may need to watch their usage.

Good catch.

If you can get an unlimited data plan you can download FoxFI from the android store for free and turn your phone into a hotspot without having to pay the added $30 or so for the hotspot plan. Works great on my LG phone.

Good luck! If you go that route feel free to ping me if you need any help setting it up.
