The other night, we watched a war movie with Tom Hanks in it.
It should have been called,

Saving Ryan's Privates

Doesn’t matter, you’ll quickly find you have to look at your watch not for the time but what day it is!

Seven: Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday and Saturday. Except if you go to church on Sundays.

This used to be a typing (keyboarding now) drill.

"The quick dog jumped the brown fox three times fast."

Back when I was working on Teletype machines the standard test was this:

"The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs back 1234567890 times."

That sentence has every letter in the alphabet and every digit at lease once.

Don't know what a teletype is?
The early model that I worked on is here:

The later models are at

Yup, I know teletype. NATO used Oliovetti 64 baud machines in Southern Italy. Some of the newer ones were Siemens, both brands with the 5 level tape spools and paper tape reader..
The oliovetti looked at lot like this one, but not exactly.

A man was stopped by a state patrol officer. The officer approaches the car.
Officer : "License and registration please" swats at flies buzzing near his head.
driver: " why am I being stopped officer?" Hands over Reg and License.
Officer: " you were 15 over the speed limit" swats at flies again.
Officer: " Damn, there sure are a lot of flies here"
driver: " Oh them circle flies?"
Officer: " Never heard of circle flies" swats at flies again
driver: " You know, them clouds of flies that circle in the air just above the back end of a horse?"
Officer: swats at flies " Are you calling me a Horse's ass??"
driver : "No sir, I'm not... But you sure can't fool them circle flies!"
