There is no reason to insult and criticize this potential iRV2 supporter!
I simply wanted to know "What is the advantage to becoming a $15.03 supporter"?
Apparently no one knows??........ (if they do they don't want to tell me about the advantages).

X2 and the extra pic storage space etc is nice - and while I haven't mounted it yet - the iRV2 decal will let other members recognize me as a member in campgrounds. Always enjoy meeting members face to face - always ask folks if they are on iRV2 - look up their threads and posts. You can tell a lot about a person by the words they type here. I'm proud to pay a little for all I receive. I also give a gift to public radio. Sometimes it's the only signal I can get worth listening to.
Sorry Cliff - but my membership renewal is coming up soon and it's a no brainer for me. Just hope I have the brains to figure out how to do it. I thought it was an automatic renewal.
Steve

It is an automatic renewal.
PayPal lists it as a recurring charge.

You're very welcome. I know I've gained more than my $15.03 worth of knowledge. So I've joined the ranks "blue banners" but not the "blue hairs" just yet. I think it's worth every penny. My question is why the $.03? Do you need that for server space?

Go back to page 1 of this thread and look at post #9. Cliff posted the image that includes the bennies of being a supporting Member of IRV2. Granted, it's hard to read, but if you click on that image it will get bigger and then it's easy to read.
But the purpose of being a Supporting Member is not to get the bennies, but to help defray some of the expenses of maintaining the website, so it can continue to be here for you. IRV2 doesn't pay the moderators anything, so labor costs are minimal, but servers, V-Bulletin website operating software, and high capacity phone lines and satellite links require buckets full of money.

^^^ excellent points! While the biz model with ads is designed to serve all as "free riders" I look at as sharing in the fuel bill. Even when my BIL drives us to the MH to run the genny and mess with systems and such, I buy lunch or the beer. It isn't necessary but I do it to show my appreciation.YMMV

Thanks for the thoughtful post/answer/explanation.
I have been reading iRV2 forums for years and never knew that there was a way that I could "pay-back".
Thanks to you, I can see the reason to become a supporting member, (although I have little use for the added benefits).
BTW, the smart a** replies to my simple question about the benefits didn't help me understand anything.....(I can be insulted without paying $15.03). LOL
Thanks again!
Mel

Mel - not being smart here - but when you post things like:
"I can't see any value there for $15.03 a year..... (looks like simply another gimmick to separate a RVer from his money)."
Some take the bait. But I suspect you know that.

That was the impression I had before someone was polite enough to explain it!
