Not paranoid just prudent. I like to be proactive it takes less time than being reactive.

Because I consider it to be a PITA to have to replace a compromised credit card.

I just wanted to pass along a little tip I had learned, seesh

I use the SSL labs one. I am an IT guy that dabbles in IT security. No harm in checking it out. We run ssllabs on our own stuff to verify.

The biggest problem when it come to compromise are the employees of the company you purchase from. They receive phishing email and targeted phishing email. As well as malware. It they aren't trained properly on communications, then it is usually their access that gets compromised. They respond to a phishing email and send sensitive data, or log into a fake internal site meant to steal login info with their real credentials and its passed on to the bad actors.

Just a little inside info! By checking the sites security, you are doing everything within your control to prevent theft.

Thanks sdennislee. And thank you for your professional responses. It's obvious you're a military vet.

Thank you Dennis, some websites trigger a warning in firefox 62. It's best to double check prior to making an exception rule.
