Water leaks
Well, we are in our S&B and over the past weekend (read on for RV) we went to bed one evening and when we got up the next day there was water all over the counter and dripping into the cabinets below. I was going to fix the expensive Pfister faucet but I could not remove the handle.
A search on the internet provided narrative and videos of this problem where the handle freeze and cannot be removed. I have a plumber coming over this evening to put in a new Delta faucet.
How does this relate to RV'ing. Well, when we leave for any length of time, even for a weekend we turn off the main water supply to the S&B to preclude this from happening. It is unfortunate that it can happen overnight when one is sleeping. Poor design I suspect.
It also relates to what others have said when we go out sight-seeing to turn off the water supply. A slight inconvenience but what if a line ruptured about 15-30 minutes after you leave for a 4 hour sight-seeing trip.
Something to ponder?

I always turnoff the CG water when I leave the CG. The S&B only for overnight trips.

S&B I assume you want to know about. Simple reply would be "house" but S&B stands for Sticks and Bricks. Different than an RV.
Oh, DH = Dear Husband unless you have made the wife mad and then the D is any ones guess.
Just in case, RV = Recreational Vehicle. (Sorry, couldn't resist. )
Here is a start and I'm sure they are not all-inclusive.

Even Cliff's link doesn't have S&B. i don't think there is an all-inclusive link anywhere.
Someone prove me wrong. I was wrong onc.......er never mind, I was just mistaken.

For all my years camping when we did use a CG and it had water we would connect, turn on and never give it a thought.
When we hit the road FT we did the same..until one time at Devils Tower CG
We arrived on Monday afternoon and set up our 5th wheel, spent Tuesday just lounging about under the awning enjoying the view of the Tower and watching climbers on the side of tower. Plan was to go to Tower next day and then head out Thursday AM to Casper.
Went to bed and dog woke us up at 3AM ----?????
Hear water GUSHING. Walk down stairs from bedroom to kitchen/living room and discover a 2" wading pool with water spraying out from under kitchen sink cabinet.
Run outside to a flooded site along with 2 others and secure the CG water hose bibb.
$.50 fitting on water heater blew apart and caused $6000 in damages........and 2 weeks of repairs (Regulator used and set for 50 psi-----just a cracked fitting that failed)
Last time we have used any CG water hookup.
We fill fresh water tank, use it exclusively and turn pump off at night, when we go outside or leave rig.

Don't remember hearing about anyone doing that, but it sure sounds like a good idea!
