25+3=28 , not 27... math in the question is flawed.
Can you cry under water?
Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii?
How does the guy who drives the snowplow get to work in the mornings?
Why is it that when you transport something by car, it is called a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it is called cargo?
When a cow laughs, does milk come out of its nose?

Can you cry under water? Yes.
Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii? Because the system was designed to provide landing strips for the military in times of war. Also, the construction of major Federal highways in all States is under the same administration.
How does the guy who drives the snowplow get to work in the mornings? He drives the snowplow home.

As to the original post on getting a post that requires thought, I submit that it is, for the majority of people, impossible, The majority of people have not the capacity of original thought, and respond to everything from purely emotional reaction.
Politicians, and other people of power have known this for a long, long, time!

I think they are teaching that in school now. No recent high school graduate I know has an inkling of an idea of what the actual thought process involves let alone what it is used for.

I was reading an article where management is getting upset at the new spat of workers. Seems they tend to cry if given even the slightest bit of criticism. First it was the 'cant read, cant spell' grads, now its the 'dont yell at me!' no competition wussies...

Don't be too hard on us, Mike...
You posted an awfully general subject: "We Need a Thread that Gets Us To Use Our Brains".
The only possible "on-topic", non-trivia responses to the thread are:
1): Yes! We do!
and
2)No! We don't!
You might try narrowing it down some...
If you're looking for a serious discussion, start a thread on a specific topic that provokes one!

Not entirely man made.
Think about this. If there was no global warming I could not live in Michigan or fish the Great Lakes. They would still be a block of ice
