Got my SS card when I was 15, worked part time at a farm, Graduated HS and went to work as a Inventory Clerk at Columbus General Depot, transfered to Fort Hayes and worked as a warehouseman for 2nd Army. Met wife & went to work for her father in a Gas station. Joined Ohio National Guard and spent 8 years filling my military obligation. Married in 6/1956 and leased my first gas station in 1960, spent 10 years there and got tired of cold winters. Spent 2 years working at Dept. Store and College. Moved to Florida in 1972 worked at a AC repairman for 2 years then leased another gas station, I was trained as an certified auto mechanic and ran a successful garage along with the gas for 23 years. Been retired now10 years.
Wife worked for local school district as a cafeteria manager for 27 years.
Right now we are both enjoying our retirement.

32 years at Big Blue, mostly in Customer Engineering. I've been retired for 3 1/2 years and I'm now working part time for a lighting company. The rest of the time is dedicated to traveling in our RV

For the past 29 years I've been a field service engineer servicing medical xray and imaging equipment. The last 7 1/2 years have been with Fujifilm Medical Systems.

Usually I just tell folks I work for Fuji, and they say "oh they make good film" and even though what I do involves getting hospital xray departments to stop using film, I just agree and move on.

38 yrs with Dept of Defense, last 22 were in Defense Contracts checking up on all the "honest" Gov't Contractors. 4 yrs 3 months 28 days USMC 61-66, 16 yr break, joined Utah Army Guard f/10 yrs, finally got smart and went USAF Reserve, much better food. Activated in Sep 2001, 2 yrs at Dover AFB clearing Cargo and personnel for Air Transport. Last yr spent at Hill AFB on Active duty. Put out to pasture at the tender age of 60, did not want to retire.
BTW, in 1961 I was actually heading to join the Navy until this Marine Recruiter said "where you going son?" I replied, "I'm going to join the Navy", he said "come on in and let me tell you about the Marines", the rest is history. Even though I'm retired from the USAF, there is an old saying, Once A Marine, Always A Marine, Semper Fi, how true that is.
